INTRODUCTION
This project report is an extensive research on the
Performance appraisal system at varun beverage
[Link] noida.
The project begins with the history of soft drink,
Pepsi cola as well as the introduction and journey
Of pepsi in india.
The project deals with the performance appraisal
Mathod used in varun beverage [Link] noida.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
To study the HR policies and performance appraisal system
existing at varun beverages Ltd.
To study the performance appraisal mathod being used at the
varun beverages ltd.
To establish direct relationship between work performance and
performance appraisal system.
To identify the level of motivation, job satisfaction,and
performance among the employees after and before the
conduction of performance exercise.
To identify the loopholes( if any) in the performance appraisal
system and suggest to take the remedial action to remove those
loopholes.
HISTORY OF THE VARUN BEVERAGE
Varun beverage ltd.(pepsi)plot no. 2,surajpur bypass
greater noida is a botteling plant of pepsicola [Link]
VBL is the top position holding company among the softdrink
botteling companies in india.
It is a frenchise of the pepsico india [Link] is a
[Link] group [Link] group is having intrest in
soft drink bottling,restaurant chains under the brand name
of pizzahut, tricon, and creambell icecream
manufacturing,power project,export and other project.
The varun beverage plant was established in the year 1995 in
greater [Link] company mainly operates bottling and
marketing of pepsicola brand.

The product brand of the varun beverage are pepsi,mirinda-
orange ,mirinda-lemon,mirinda-appel,7-up,evervess soda.
[Link] the chairman of this group was awarded for
good quality and marketing in south asia with” EXCELLANCY
AWARD”by [Link] bush the former president of USA in
1998.
DEFINITION OF PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL
performance appraisal may be understood as the assessment
of an indivisuals performance in a systematic way.
“ performance appraisal is the systematic evaluation of the
individuals with respect to his or her performance on
the job and his or her potential for development”.
according to” DALE YODER” “all formal procedures used in
working orgnisation to evaluate personalities and
contribution and potentials of group members.”
under performance appraisal we not only evaluate the
performance of a worker but also his potential for
development.
360-DEGREE PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL MATHOD
The mathod in which multiple raters are involved in rating the
performance,is called 360-degree performance appraisal mathod.
The 360-degree technique is understood as systematic collection
of performance data on an individual or group,drived from a
[Link] stakeholders-the stakeholder being the immediate
superviser,team member,customer,peer,and self.
360-degree can not be applied in the production firms with large
[Link] the unskilled and semi-skilled employee.
In the varun beverage grading mathod is used to appraise the
employees on an annual [Link] the varun beverages grades heve
been assigned to the employees according to the nature of the
work member,and .the employees are categorised in to three
main grades class,namely worker,staff e manager.
RESEARCH MATHODOLOGY
Research mathodology is a way to systematically solve the
research [Link] includes defining the research
problem,sampling design,research design,mathod of data
collection,data analysis and interpretation.
In this research I have used both primary and secondary
data .primary data is that kind of data which is collected
by the investigator himself.I collect this data by
[Link] an investigator uses data drived from
others is called as secondary data.i collected these data
from reports, websites,journals.
FINDINGS DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
Analysis has been made on the basis of data collected by
means of [Link] this research I made two
questionnaire—first for the permanent worker and second
for the managers.
The questionnaire has been made keeping in mind the level
and magnitude of activities carried out by the worker,staff
and managers.
The basis aim of the questionnaire is to findout the mental
perspective of the respondent towards the performance
appraisal exercise followed by varun beverage ltd.
CONCLUSION
After analysis of the data collected and compiled we can say
that,varun beverage is doing well ,but a major area for the
concern is that employee feel themselves are not being
involved in the decision making [Link] may bring down
the moral of employees .thus company should feel more free
to work and accomplish tha maximum result.
The company should have the manageable working hourand
equaitable pay to ensure employee [Link] company
should also reward the efficient employee occasionally to
motivate them
If the orgnisation do this then everyone surly can say that
company will have a brighter future.
