2. Name four output devices and write the type of output that can be exhibited
through them.
Ans: A computer shows results through different output devices. A monitor displays
text, images, and videos on the screen. A printer gives output in the form of printed
documents and images on paper. Speakers produce sound output like music, voice, or
alerts. A projector displays visuals such as text, images, and videos on a large screen for
viewing by many people.
3. Differentiate between RAM and ROM.
Ans: RAM (Random Access Memory) is a temporary memory used by the computer to
store data and instructions while a program is running. Its contents are lost when the
power is turned off, so it is volatile memory.
ROM (Read Only Memory) is a permanent memory that stores essential instructions
required for starting the computer (booting). Its contents cannot be easily changed and
are not lost when power is turned off, so it is non-volatile memory.
4. What is the job of a Control Unit (CU) inside the CPU?
Ans: The Control Unit (CU) is the part of the CPU that controls how the computer works.
It reads instructions, tells other parts like the ALU and memory what to do, and makes
sure everything happens in the right order.
5. Arrange the following memory unit in ascending order of the storage

send a mail, you log in to Gmail, click on Compose, type the receiver’s email address, add
a subject and message, attach files if needed, and then click on Send.
9. Why is Facebook is used and how it is different from twitter.

posts, and join groups of interest. It is different from Twitter because Facebook allows
longer and detailed posts, while Twitter is mainly for short messages called tweets and
quick updates.
10. What is the use of WhatsApp? Is it possible to use WhatsApp on computer?
Ans: WhatsApp is used for chatting, sharing photos, videos, documents, and making
voice or video calls. It can also be used on a computer through WhatsApp Web or the
desktop app by connecting it with the mobile app.
11. What is digital India? what are the benefits of using Digital India?
Ans: Digital India is a government program to make the country digitally strong by
providing services online and improving internet use. It helps people with easy access to
government services, online payments, digital banking, e-learning, healthcare, and new
job opportunities, while also saving time and reducing paperwork.
12. Explain the process of staring up of computer.
Ans: The process of starting a computer is called booting. When the power button is
pressed, the computer checks its parts, then loads the Operating System from the hard
disk into memory, and finally shows the desktop or home screen for use.
13. How you can change the menu on the quick lunch bar.
Ans: Here are the steps to change the menu on the Quick Launch Bar:
1. Right-click on the Quick Launch Bar.
2. Select Toolbars → Quick Launch if it is not already visible.
3. To add a program, drag its icon and drop it onto the Quick Launch Bar.
4. To remove a program, right-click on the shortcut in the bar and select Delete.
5. Arrange icons by dragging them to your preferred order.
14. How the background of the desktop can be changed.
Ans: Here are the steps to change the desktop background:

Ans: Organizing the icons means keeping desktop icons in order for easy use. Icons can
be arranged in different ways such as by Name, Size, Item type, or Date modified.
