Ice Age (titled Ice Age: The Ice Age in Spain and The Ice Age in
Hispanoamerica) is an American animated film from the year 2002 created by
Blue Sky Studios and released by 20th Century Fox. It was directed by Chris Wedge and
Carlos Saldanha. It was released on March 15, 2002.

It was projected alongside the previous short Gone Nutty (translated as Acorns),
featuring a small saber-toothed squirrel thief named Scrat who
searches for and obsessively stores acorns, and that will also appear in the rest of
movies of the series.3?

The movie was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature,
the first Blue Sky Studios movie to be nominated in that category.

Argument
The movie began a long time ago, during the ice age, showing Scrat,
a small sabre-toothed squirrel, a thief of nuts and acorns that searches for a
place to store its acorn. Upon finding it, it tries to protect it in the
ground but ends up forming a crack that will trigger a catastrophe that by
little ends his life. Upon leaving there, Scrat is happy that he is.
