Yi Sung Gae, established Joseon dynasty in 1393, after overthrowing the Goryeo dynasty. Yi Sung Gae proclaimed Joseon Dynasty and renamed Korea as the Kingdom of Great Joseon.

THE GYEONG-BOK GOONG

After Yi Sung Gae(1335-1408), established Joseon dynasty in 1393, he built the GyeongBok Goong, which means Palace of Shining Happiness in 1394.
