It will be noted that I have merely adapted an existing ‘card trick’ but, with the
adapted presentation, the impact made upon the audience will prove far more than
was possible with playing cards.

Using only his fingertips the mentalist can see what’s written on several blank cards
behind his back!
Words, numbers, and even drawings are revealed with 100% accuracy.
Full performance:
The mentalist offers her participant 5 blank cards and a Sharpie and instructs her
to secretly write on each card a secret piece of information.
A name, a city, a word, a 4-digit number, and finally a drawing. (It can be ANYTHING!)
Once finished the cards can be fairly mixed by the spectator. The mentalist asks for
the cards face down so that none can be seen and places them behind his back.
‘I'm going to try to see what you wrote using only my fingertips and you are going to
tell me if I am right or wrong.’
-Ok
‘Let's begin… I am seeing… a word… yes, it is a word. I am seeing the word CLOCK…
correct?
-YES!
‘In this one, I can see numbers… I see the numbers 1, 7, 9…1792, am I right?’
-WTF?!
‘I will try to see one more… My fingertips are starting to hurt… I see a drawing…
what is this?… Is it a shoe?!’
-YES it is a shoe!
The mentalist hands out all the cards back to the spectator and encourages her to
feel them. She will realize that she can’t feel a thing!

Is at this moment that you peek at the card that's facing you. Imagine you peek at
the word CLOCK. Remember it, return the cards to your back and continue:
‘Let's begin… I am seeing… a word… yes, it is the word. I am seeing the word CLOCK’
You are simply revealing the word you just secretly saw.
Flip the card you just peeked at and bring it to the front of the pack so that the
word is facing your participant.

Show it to your participant for confirmation and again peek at the card that's
facing you.

Imagine this time you see the number 1792. Remember it. Place the cards behind your
back and continue:
‘In this one, I can see numbers, I see the numbers 1, 7, 9…1792!
Once again, flip the card you just saw and bring it to the front of the pack.
Repeat the peek while she confirms that you are right about the number.

Let's say this one last time it is the drawing of a shoe. Place the cards behind your
back.
‘I will try to see one more… My fingertips are starting to hurt… I see a drawing…
what is this?… Is it a shoe?!’
For the last time, flip the card you just looked at and bring it to the front of the
pack.
Show the card for confirmation and hand out all the cards back to the spectator.
You end completely clean. The cards are in the order they should be and they are all
facing the correct way. Encourage her to feel them. She will realize that she can’t
feel a thing!
Once you have understood how this secret works with just one person, you can apply
it to any number of people you want. You can even ask a whole audience to write
thoughts and you decide how many to reveal.
