THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

According to the Journal of Environmental Psychology, Environmental


Psychology is the field can be defined as: “The scientific study of the transactions and
interrelationships between people and their physical surroundings (including built and
natural environments, the use and abuse of nature and natural resources, and
sustainability-related behavior).”
In other words, environmental psychology is all about how people and their
environment interact. It is a field that studies how and why our environment affects
us, how we may use that information to our benefit, and what we can do to strengthen
our connection to the environment.
