Chapter 1

“Mom where are my new pair of sneakers? Did you see them? Anywhere? At
least can you find them for me?” I shout at the top of my voice. I’m packing my
bags for Paris and I did not realize that I’m already crying as I’m moving, I pack
in my last shoe in the trolley and as soon as I do my mom enters the room,
“Lun, Is this the one you’re finding?”, “Yup, by the way I’m too hungry,
wouldn’t you mind if I order one box of domino’s?” I tell her to divert her mind
from the fact that I’m going out to live, she has been sobbing for the past
whole week, and looking at her I surely know that I’m going to miss her a LOT.
I hear my dad’s dinosaur-like-feet-stumps entering the room, “LuLu, look what
I found, Paris’s famous restaurant’s menu!” I glance up at him in an
unwelcoming way “That sounds delicious, when I’ll settle in there, I’ll for sure
try them”. He’s constantly on his laptop searching for exotic places in Paris, I
try not to talk with him because I know if I’ll do, we’ll end up crying together.
My family has been sobbing for days because I am going to Paris (I’m the only
child of theirs) , it’s not a huge problem for their sadness, they’re sad because
the distance is nearly seven thousand -five hundred kilometers from Nagpur
and that I’ll probably meet them once in a year or maybe two or maybe three,
I don’t know.
“Ding”, the bell rings, I wonder who that person is, my mom opens and door
and grabs three small boxes, each with a domino’s logo. “Oh god, I forgot I had
ordered pizza, so dumb of me”. I help her and grab the boxes from her hands
as she took the extra sachets of oregano and chili flakes. We all dig in to the
food right after the delivery boy (but it was a girl) leaves. “I’m going to miss
this Indian water”, I chuckle. “Ok then, I’ll pack you some packaged ‘Indian
water’” my mom adds up a joke.
After we finish the pizza, we go straight to sleep. It’s been a tiresome day
visiting some of my dad’s friends, some of my mom’s friends, all of my friend’s.
From the past few weeks I’ve literally forgot how my mom’s food tastes like,
I’ve been invited to so many houses for dinners, lunches, breakfasts and even
brunches, Indian hospitality’s the best. They are probably celebrating because I
got a scholarship in one of the biggest Universities of France, the Sorbonne
University. Don’t think I’m going for my grad, like I’m already graduated in
medical, just going there to pursue my post graduate degree in nephrology.

I am on my bed, fidgeting with my bracelet and thinking about life in Europe,
I’ve heard that there are a lot of brands to buy from, a hell lot of book stores in
Paris, their fashion sense, the AESTHETIC buildings of France and so many
other aspects I cannot even think of. I don’t realize how I fell asleep but I know
that I’m pretty excited and nervous at the same time. What if the plane
crashes? What if get bullied there? What if I fail in my specialty? What if I don’t
visit my parents my entire time in Europe?. I don’t know what’s going running
in my head.
Chapter 2

We are at the airport and I’m starting to realize how much I am going to miss
them, Nagpur, India, Asia and everything. “Here you go, I’ve bought you your
favourite coffee and cookies”, my dad said, already trying to tame his tears but
fail to. I love him. “Thank You soo much! In the meanwhile can I buy some
Novels to read in the flight? I’ll be right back”, “Sure Lun, remember, do NOT
buy expensive ones, that too hardcovers, paperbacks are the best.”, “I know
mommy.” My mom packed some Indian snacks ( cause I love them ) and after
buying a book, I head towards the waiting lounge, leaving them with warm
hugs.
I finally checked in and left my parents behind to reach to the domestic flights
section because there are no direct flights from Nagpur to Paris, so in order to
get into the flight that goes directly to Paris, I have to go to Delhi and then
board a flight to Paris.
“In how much time will the flight arrive?”
“Ma’am, may I please have your passport?”
“Yeah sure”
The receptionist takes my passport and add some details in her computer,
while I wait and see the whole scene of the airport, a little cute girl walking on
the shoulders of her dad, a very cute old-is-gold-couples waiting in the other
lounge opposite to ours.
“Here you go ma’am, thank you for your patience!”, the receptionist said.
“Not a big deal.” As soon as I turn around to walk to a waiting seat, I forget
how to breathe, my blood pressure gets high, I’m flying in the air, I see this
charming, a perfect jawline, narrow eyes, wide eyebrows, brown haired and a
more than 6 feet tall boy. He is heading towards the seat near me (oh my god
his beauty his heavenly), he is walking so elegantly, one hand in the pocket of
his black pajamas and other hand’s fingers running through his hazel brown
hair. I might look very weird in front of him cause all I can see right now is his
body. He sits right next to me and is working on his laptop, I try very hard not
to act as if I’m obsessed with him.
Its like I’ve had many crushes, like I get a crush on someone within 0.0001
seconds, I’ve even dreamed about many boys approaching me but I’ve never
seen this handsome boy. My eyes hurt cause I’ve had open eyes for at least 3
minute now. I hate how I feel right now. Ok. That’s it. Luna, we cannot afford
to keep one more crush in your head. But he’s just so handsome and
charismatic I fail to listen to my mind at this point of time. Oh my god he’s
looking at me (please god hope I don’t look terrible in these over sized
clothes).
He suddenly stands up, puts his laptop to his side and starts to go somewhere,
I’m observing him so keenly, he reaches the vending machine, he’s searching
something in his pocket and finds some coins and enters them in the machine,
now he’s choosing what to drink, he just selects the ice cold latte and I’m damn
impressed.

He’s working on his laptop and I pretend to read my novel so that he might not
suspect that I’m watching him for 20 minutes straight. “Passengers of Indigo
flight 737 are requested to line up and board the flight. Happy Journey.” I
stand up and stuffed my remaining cookies in the bag and started moving, he
too walks after me.

I’m sitting on my seat, it’s a window seat and I search for him, he’s nowhere
and I wonder if he’s sitting at the back. After all the instructional period, I
buckle my belt and go to sleep.

“Ma’am here’s your breakfast, thank you.”, I wake up suddenly and sigh, it was
the flight hostess smiling at me. “Can you please get me some cotton and hot
water?” my ears are bursting in pain, “Sure, Ma’am.” I get up and start to sniff
the food, it’s just salad and toasted bread served with butter that I had
ordered online. I start to eat, then the air hostess brings the cotton,
immediately I apply them to my ears.” I eat the rest of the food, “Thank You,
can you take this plate from here?”, “Okay then.”, she completes her work and
leaves. Finally I can get my peaceful sleep.
