questions.
 Part one answers - Not too long not too short.

 There is no words limit for answers in part 1 but avoid a one-line answer. It is too
shot. A good answer for part one question should of 2 to 3 lines.

 For example if the question is: Do you like cooking? And if you answer “No, I
don't like cooking”. Your answer is too short.

 Remember the examiner is not interested in knowing whether you like cooking
or not. He likes to hear sufficient English for establishing your grade. So, “No, I
don't like cooking” does not have enough evidence of your language proficiency.
 Finish your answer with confidence and stop.

 It is very Important is that you end your answers with confidence.

Stop after finishing your answer, giving a clear message to the
examiner that you have finished your answer and there is nothing
more you like to add.

 Don’t keep murmuring or ramble on. (Ramble on means to talk for a

long time in a boring and rather confused way.)
 Add ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ in opinion statements.
 Some question in part 1 will ask for your opinion.

 For example: Do you like music? or Do you think children

should be allowed to use cell phones?

 You must add ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ before repeating the question –

Yes, I like music or No, I don’t think children should be
allowed to use cell phones.
 Why/Why not?
 Often in part 1 questions, the second part of the question is
“why/why not”.

 That means the examiner asking for reason/justification for your

answer.

 Make sure that you justify why do you think/don’t think so. You
must also use the proper transition words to show the examiner that
you have answered the second part of the question.
