RWY 15 ILS Approaches


ILS approaches to RWY 15 contain a NON-ICAO STANDARD missed approach procedure due to a higher than normal missed
approach climb gradient and a smaller turn radius. Instrument Approach Minimum must be derived from the appropriate
performance table in Part C. Interpolation is not authorised.

RWY 15 ILS Missed Approach Procedure


All go-arounds from the RWY 15 ILS (single or all-engine) must be flown using:
• B737 300/800: F15
• At least 90% N1 or full go-around thrust
• A minimum bank angle of 25° in the turn to ‘SI’
Speed must be adjusted so that the turn to ‘SI’ is flown between:
• B737 300: minimum of Vref 30/40+15 and maximum of 165kts, B737 80: minimum of Vref40+20 and maximum of 165kts.
Consider using LVL CHG to manage the speed during the go around.
Do not accelerate until the turn to ‘SI’ is complete and above altitude 2500ft.
Note: On B737 aircraft if the level off occurs prior to completion of the turn, the gear warning horn may sound when the thrust
reduces, select flap 10 to cancel the horn.

RWY 15 RNP Missed Approach Procedure


Go-arounds from minima should follow the published Missed Approach Procedure.
If a go-around is required between WS817 and the RWY follow the RWY 15 ILS Missed Approach Procedure and guidance.
The ‘D2 OES’ point may be defined using a fix page.

Baulked Landings RWY 15


If a baulked landing occurs from any RWY 15 Approach, whether single or all-engines:
• B737-300/-800 retract to F15
• Consider following the RWY 15 Engine Failure Procedure.

RNP Visual Approach RWY 33


This is the preferred approach to RWY 33.
The approach terminates at waypoint WS835, the segment after this waypoint must be flown with visual reference. Waypoints
WS836, WS837 and the RF leg joining them are included in the Navigation Database only to aid situational awareness during the
visual segment of this approach.

RNP Visual Approach V RWY 33 Missed Approach Procedure


If not visual at WS835 the published missed approach must be followed. If a go-around is required after WS835 prior to WS837,
after gear retraction make a right turn towards WS831. In all cases DO NOT accelerate until turn to ‘WS831’ is complete AND
above altitude 2500ft.

Circling Visual 33 Approach


An ILS approach to RWY 15 is initially required, breaking-off at the ‘SI’ to complete a circling manoeuvre to position the aircraft to
land on RWY 33. Beware of breaking-off the initial instrument approach at the wrong NDB.
Consider putting ‘SI’ in a fix page with a 3.5 nm range ring and radials 125, 153 and 333 to assist. Do not fly to the West of the ‘SI’
333 QDM at any time.

Missed Approach During Visual 33 Approach


If a missed approach is required after passing ‘SI’ continue on track 125° from ‘SI’ to 3.5 nm, then turn right inbound to ‘SI’. DO
NOT accelerate until turn to ‘SI’ is complete and above altitude 2500ft. Consider the use of LVL CHG, rather than TOGA.

SIDs
Some RNAV SIDs require the initial turn to be flown whilst in visual contact with the terrain. Do not accept these SIDs if unable to
comply. Maximum use of automatics is advised, If you fly them and need to maintain visual with the ground consider setting lower
altitude in the MCP.
THREATS: ARRIVALS:
