Well dear students, today we
will discuss ghe poem no. 6 of
your textbook 'Flamingo'.
"Aunt Jennifer's Tiger" is a
poem written by Adriene Rich,
that explores themes of
gender, roles, operation and
pursuit of personal freedom.
The poem is about a woman
named Aunt Jennifer who
creates a tapestry of tigers to
escape her unhappy marriage.
The tigers in the tapestry
symbolizes Aunt Jennifer's
inner desires for freedom and
assertion, which contrast with
her controlled life.
Methodology:
Teacher will introduce the
topic with the video of
"Tigers", they are the symbols
of courage, bravery, freedom
and human atrocity.
Teacher will summarise the
topic and explain the lines
stanzawise.
Teacher will encourage the
students to read and
summarise the completed
stanzas.

Time Assigned: Students are carefully
listening to the teacher and
writing main points in their
note books. After the teacher
completes her explanation,
students ask their doubts.
