E. Skills
Enumerating the three tenets of the cell theory.
Composing a song-lyric related to cell theory.
F. Science Concept
Cell theory, a cornerstone of modern biology, asserts three fundamental principles: all
living organisms are composed of cells, the cell is the basic unit of life, and cells arise from
pre-existing cells. Originating from the observations of early microscopists like Robert
Hooke and Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, it was refined by Matthias Schleiden, Theodor
Schwann, and Rudolf Virchow in the 19th century.
III. Learning Procedures
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preparation
Assalamualikom and a pleasant morning to (Students are listening attentively)
everyone!
Hello, I am Al-Obinay, Soraya together with
my partner Lemosnero karen Jane. We are
student teachers from MSU- Main Campus.
We will be your teacher for about two weeks,
and we will be teaching you the concept of
cell and cell cycles.
You can call me Ma’am Sors for short and
you can call my partner Ma’am kars. Don’t be
shy to ask if you have any question or
clarification, and also we will be doing a lot
of entertaining activities so please do
cooperate.
We are hoping that at the end of our session,
everyone would have a deeper appreciation
and understanding of the concept of cell and
cell cycle and of course let’s enjoy while
learning.
So then, please pick up pieces of paper and (Students arranged their chairs and picked
arrange your chairs. some pieces of paper around them.)
Okay! Please stand and let us pray first.
(The students are praying together with the
teacher.)
You may now take your seats. Thank you, ma’am.
Class monitor, is there any absent in this None, ma’am.
class?
Very good!
B. Review
To recap, who can tell me the discussion you Ma’am our topic was about….
had last meeting with your previous teacher?
Anyone? Yes, Anna
Very good, Anna! Now, who can tell about The main context is about …... (Further
this ……? explanation)
Yes, Jassy.
That’s it! Very good, Jassy! I hope that you
will remember what you’ve learned. We don’t have any questions, Ma’am!
By the way, is there any questions, reactions,
or clarifications with regards to our previous Yes ma’am.
discussion?
Okay then! Let’s proceed!
C. Motivation
Yes ma’am.
Before we begin to our proper discussion,
let’s have an activity first, are you ready?
Are you familiar with word search? Yes ma’am.
So, what I have here is Puzzle and a list of
words and all you have to do is to search and
then encircle the words hidden in this puzzle.
Student’s possible answers:
Understood? Yes ma’am.
Now, who would like to volunteer? (Students will raise their hands.)
(Let 5 students answer the word search game)
Very good!
D. Presentation/ Lesson proper
Ma’am, I guess our topic is about cell theory.
Alright! Good Job everyone! Most of you got
the correct answers!
Now, based on our activity, who can guess
what will be our lesson for today? Yes, Ali.
Exactly! What a very good guess Ali.
Yes, our lesson for today is all about cell
theory. (Students are reading the Learning
Objectives)
Now, kindly read our learning objectives for
today. (Teacher showed the Learning
objectives through PowerPoint presentation)
Our objectives for today’s lesson are:
1. Enumerate the three tenets of
cell theory.
2. Identify key concepts related
to cell theory through a game.
3. Relate the significance of cell
theory in our daily lives.
Now, let us watch this video.
(Teacher plays the music video).

Now, do you have any clarification, reaction, None so far ma’am, no need to play the song
or question regarding this video? Do you want again.
me to play it again?
Did you understand? Yes ma’am.
Now, based on these videos what do you think (Students will share their ideas)
is the relevance or importance of knowing the
concept of cell theory? Can someone try to
relate this topic in our lives.
Okay, then very good. Very well said.
Now, let’s have an activity since you all said
that you’ve understood the videos, let see.
Now, this activity is called:
Catch the bottle game:
Mechanics:
(Students are listening attentively)
1. Give random numbers to all students.
2. Call 2 random numbers.
3. Put an empty bottle into the center of the
table. (All students are participating.)
4. Teacher will say “head, shoulder, waist”,
randomly. Once the teacher says “bottle” the
players will try to get the bottle.
5. The player who will not be able to get the
bottle, will be the one to answer the question.
Questions:
It is the foundation of biology and basis of
our lives: (All students are participating.)
Cell theory
State the 3 tenets of cell theory:
All living things are made up of cells.
The basic unit of structure and function
Cell comes from pre-existing cells.
What Anton van Leeuwenhoek discovered?
Animalcules
Who discovered the term “cell” that we use
today?
Robert Hooke from a cork tree
Who propose that all plants are made up of
cell?
Matthias Schleiden
Who propose that all animals are made up
of cell?
Theodore Schwann
Did you enjoy the activity class?
Yes ma’am.
E. Generalization
If you don’t have any questions. Then, what
was our lesson all about? Anyone? Yes, jane. It’s about the cell theory.
Very well said jane. Now, who can enumerate
1. All organisms are made up of cells.
the 3 tenets of cell theory?
2. Cell is the fundamental unit of life.
3. Cell comes from pre-existing cell.
Now, can someone briefly explain the key
figures involved in the development of cell Robert Hooke's observations of cork cells
theory. under the microscope in the 17th century,
alongside Antonie van Leeuwenhoek's
discoveries of microorganisms, laid the
groundwork for acknowledging the existence
of cells. In the 19th century, Matthias
Schleiden and Theodor Schwann
independently formulated the first principles
of cell theory, asserting that all plants and
animals are composed of cells.
Very good everyone.
Now, are there any questions, clarifications
with our entire discussion? None so far ma’am.
Okay I think that with be all, thank you
everyone for coming. Thank you, ma’am.
See you tomorrow.
Goodbye class. Goodbye ma’am.
