YOUR VISION, OUR MISION!

I. INTRODUCTION

The project titled “Your Vision, Our Vision” aims to address the needs of
individuals with visual impairments, particularly in economically disadvantaged
and underserved areas. The proponents’ mission is to enhance the clarity of vision
for every citizen across a barangay, ensuring accessible support and resources for
all. Focuses on the needs of people with visual impairments, particularly in
economically poor and marginalized communities. This mission aims to close the
gap between people with visual impairments and the vital services they demand,
creating an inclusive environment in which everyone is given the opportunity to
thrive. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates 285 million people
globally are visually impaired, of whom 39 million are blind and 246 million have
low vision. At least 65% (154 million) of visually impaired people and 82% (32
million) of the blind are in the 50 years and older age group. WHO estimates that
age-related blindness is increasing worldwide. Cataract is the number one cause of
blindness in the world and accounted for an estimated 51% of blindness in 2010.
Other causes of age-related blindness include glaucoma (8%), age-related macular
degeneration (5%) and diabetic retinopathy (1%). Uncorrected refractive errors
(43%) and cataract (33%) are the main causes of visual impairment in the world.
Approximately 90% of those affected live in developing countries (World Health
Organization, 2016). According to (Ravilla et al., 2018), to successfully develop,
run and sustain an eye care program, several resources are required, finance being
among the essential ones. The source of such financing varies somewhat based on
who the provider is – the government, non-profit hospital or private sector. Equally
the sources vary depending on whether such financing is for capital investment or
operating expenses.

MISSION
• To offer assistance and create opportunities for senior citizens at no expense,
serving as a means to promote inclusivity and equality within the community.
• To enhance the quality of life and improve vision for senior citizens,
particularly those in need.
• To provide complimentary treatment to individuals, aiding in the enhancement
of their self-esteem and confidence.
VISION
• To provide free eye check-ups and treatments, especially for those with
limited budgets
• To unite people of all ages with a special emphasis on supporting and caring
for our senior citizens.
• To enhance the visual health for disadvantaged individuals.

II. PURPOSE

The purpose of this project is to bridge the gap to clear vision by providing free
eyeglasses to individuals of all ages who require them due to blurry vision, especially
those who cannot afford them, with a particular focus on senior citizens. This project
aims to improve the quality of life for those struggling with blurry vision, reduce the
risk of accidents and injuries associated with poor vision, and empower individuals to
participate fully in their communities and pursue their goals. By providing free
eyeglasses, the proponents hope to promote awareness of the importance of vision
care and access to eye exams, ultimately creating a more inclusive and equitable
society for all. It is worth sponsoring to help and enable them to develop productivity
and boost their self-esteem. The proponents can really help with their educational
advancements and participate in seminars. This can be conducted by proponents and
