Workshop Title: Mastering Everyday English Conversations

Objective: By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to confidently engage in
basic English conversations for daily interactions.
Target Audience: Beginners and intermediate English learners.
Workshop Outline:
1. Introduction (10 minutes)
● Warm welcome and icebreaker to foster interaction.
● Explanation of the importance of conversational English in daily life.
● Icebreaker activity: "Two Truths and a Lie" to encourage speaking confidence.
2. Common Greetings and Introductions (15 minutes)
● Teaching essential greetings and formal/informal introductions.
● Model dialogues and pronunciation practice.
● Partner activity: Role-playing different introduction scenarios.
● Feedback session to refine pronunciation and fluency.
3. Small Talk & Everyday Expressions (20 minutes)
● Discussing common small talk topics (weather, hobbies, daily routines, and family).
● Group discussion on cultural differences in small talk.
● Role-playing mini-conversations with guided prompts.
● Activity: Matching expressions with appropriate situations and responses.
4. Asking & Giving Directions (15 minutes)
● Vocabulary expansion: Prepositions of place and direction phrases.
● Listening activity with real-world examples.
● Interactive map-based exercises to practice giving and understanding directions.
● Pair work: One participant asks for directions, and the other provides guidance.
5. Ordering at a Restaurant (20 minutes)
● Introduction to restaurant-related vocabulary and polite phrases.
● Role-playing: Ordering food as customers and responding as waiters.
● Discussion on common restaurant etiquette and differences between cultures.
● Practical activity: Simulated restaurant experience with scripted dialogues.
6. Shopping & Transactions (15 minutes)
● Learning key phrases for shopping, asking for prices, and making purchases.
● Demonstration of common shopping interactions.
● Group activity: Simulated marketplace scenario where participants buy and sell
items.
● Quick quiz on commonly used expressions to reinforce learning.
7. Closing & Q&A (10 minutes)
● Recap of key learning points from each session.
● Open floor for questions and clarifications.
● Encouragement to continue practicing through media and conversation partners.
● Distribution of participation certificates (optional).
