The cooling fan is driven by hydraulic oil from P3 (Pump 3) , which also supplies hydraulic oil to the brake pressure charging. The
brake pressure charging has priority. The cooling fan speed is controlled by the V-ECU, which receives signals from a number of
temperature sensors about the temperature of the different systems. If cooling, i.e. increased cooling fan speed, is required, the
V-ECU sends a current to PWM2601, which makes sure that the required hydraulic oil flow is supplied to the cooling fan.
When none of the temperature sensors requests increased cooling, the V-ECU will send sufficient voltage to PWM2601 to keep
the fan at the so called basic [Link] fan rpm, specifications
The flow from P3 is conducted into the central valve via connection PF and is conducted on to the cooling fan via MA5502 and
connection PFF. The pressure from the pump is also supplied to PWM2601 via a restriction. PWM2601 can, if the current is
increased, close the connection to tank, and thereby create a higher LS-pressure. The flow from P3 varies with the LS-pressure
and thereby also the cooling fan speed. The function is proportional. Through feed-back from the fan revolution sensor SE2601
the V-ECU receives information about whether the signal to PWM2601 has resulted in the correct fan speed.
To prevent the radiator from clogging up, the machine may be equipped with a reversible cooling fan, see Reversible cooling fan,
