Microsoft Paint
The term paint means painting some object or picture. Naturally we before paint anything in
a copy & later colorized the picture. Now, we can draw the picture & colorized the document in a
computer. Extension code of Microsoft Paint is .png.

How to Open Microsoft Paint


Process – 1
1. Click on Start Button
2. Click on All Programs.
3. Click on Accessories.
4. Click on Microsoft Paint.

Process – 2
1. Click on Start Button
2. Write “Run” on search panel of the Start Button & press Enter Button
3. Write “mspaint” on search Box.
4. Click on Ok Button or press Enter Button.

Process – 3
1. Click on Start Button
2. Click on “Microsoft Paint” Option on recent places of start Button window.

Process – 4
1. Click on Start Button
2. Write “Run” on search panel of the Start Button & press Enter Button
3. Write “cmd” on search Box.
4. Click on Ok Button or press Enter Button.
5. Write “Start (space) “mspaint” & press Enter Button

Double click on shortcut Icon of “Microsoft Paint” on the Desktop.

File Menu:
How to create a new file?
Click “File” button---- click “New”, (Shortcut Key – CTRL+N).

How to open an old image file?


Click “File” button ---- click “Open” ---- select the file which you want to open---- click on “Open”
button. (Shortcut Key – CTRL+O).

How to save the image file?


Click “File” button ----- click “Save”----write a file name (1 – 255 Character) --- then click “Save”
button. (Shortcut Key – CTRL+O).

How to save the same file with a new name?


Click “File” button --- click “Save as” ---- write a file name (1 – 255 Character) --- then click Save”

How we see the print preview of the Image?
Click “File” button --- click print----Then we see the print preview in at right side

How we print the picture or image?


Click “File” button --- click print ----Select Printer----Then select how many copies to print----Then
Click “Print” button. (Shortcut Key – CTRL+P).

1. Cut --- To cut any selected document or picture. Select the picture, --- then click cut
button. Shortcut key –Ctrl+X

2. Copy--- To copy any selected document or picture. Select the picture, --- then click
copy button. Shortcut key –Ctrl+C

3. Paste---To paste any cutted or copied any document or picture, place the cursor where you
put the text, click paste button. Shortcut key –Ctrl+V

What Is Clipboard?
The clipboard is a place or memory where the cutted or copied document is stored &
when we paste the item, the item will be come out from the clipboard.

Tool Menu
Next, we discuss about the tool menu of the paint application, there are 6 types of tools available in
tool box.
1. Pencil
2. Eraser
3. Fill with color
4. Color Picker
5. Text
6. Magnifier.

Pencil Tools
To draw the picture by a pencil, we use this tools. This tools look like a simple pencil.
At first click pencil tool, then the shape of the pointer has become changed. Next you hold
the left click and move the mouse for drawing.

Eraser Tools
To erase any picture or any parts of the picture, we use this tools. At first click eraser
tool, then the shape of the pointer has become changed. Next you hold the left click and
move the mouse in picture for eraser.
For larger the eraser shape pointer, click Ctrl ++ (Plus Sign)
For smaller the eraser shape pointer, click Ctrl + - (Minus Sign)

Fill With Color Tools


To fill with color in the picture, we use this tools. For creating this
We follow this steps.
1. At first you select any color of your choice from color pallet.
2. Then click the fill with color tools from tool groups.
3. Then move the cursor of any position of your picture.
4. Then click once.

If we can write any text on the picture, we use this tools. At first click text tools.
Then click & move the mouse pointer for drawing a box where we can write anything.
Then write something & click outside the box.

Magnifier Tools
To display the picture as a larger view or smaller view, we use this tools. At first
click text tools. Then click Magnify tool, then move the cursor to zooming point of the
picture, then click the mouse at once.

Brush Tools

You can directly draw the picture by help of brush tools. And you can also draw the
picture by the help of pencil & coloring the picture by the help of brush tools.
For this work you can follow this steps
1. At first select a brush tool from tool bar,
2. Then select a color
3. Then move the mouse pointer in paint area.
Color Pallet
There is some small box with fill of color. This whole area is
called color pallet.

Shape Group

In this group there are several types of shapes are available.


Few shapes are Line, Oval, Rectangle, Rounded Rectangle, Hexagon
etc.
