took the paints out of her paint box to make the bloodstain in the library. They were
arguing for a moment but then he said that he was very tired and he could not sleep
for three hundred years. She began to feel sorry for him once more. She offered to
do something for him to help him to rest.
He asked her to pray for him. If she prayed and cried for all the bad things he had
done, death would be kind for him and at the end he could rest in peace.
She decided to help him.

CHAPTER 6

When dinner time came, Virginia disappeared. Everybody looked at her but she
didn’t appear anywhere. Just before midnight, they went back to the house. They
were very worried, but [Link] told his family to get some sleep and they started
again to look for her the next morning. They were standing at the bottom of the stairs
when the clock sounded midnight. Suddenly, a secret door opened in the wall at the
top of the stairs and walked out of Virginia. She took the family to a small dark room
at the end of a long corridor. There was a skeleton hanging from a metal ring on the
wall. The girl told the family that when Sir Simon. She told them that the spirit is
finally dead with her help. Four days later, Mr Otis arranged a funeral for Sir Simon.
The lord who sold the house to them also attended the funeral and thanked the
daughter for her help. He told her to keep the jewels in the box, although they
belonged to his family.
A few years later, the young girl married a young Duke and became a duchess. She
never told anyone what she experienced when she disappeared with the ghost. She
always thought about the ghost with love and felt happy that he was resting in peace
in the church yard, just as he wished.
