colours, medium & other materials

C) Literary art:- where person/artist expresses his idea through poetry, script
writing, articles

Ans: According to Bhagvat Puran Chitralekha was a friend of Usha (Banasur's
daughter) who was skilled in making drawing/Painting of someone/something exactly
alike on only hearing a story
5. How the very first painting came into existence
Ans: 1) According to bhagvat puran(mythological)
Lord Vishnu is regarded as the founder/creator of painting/drawing, it is said that
having self - engrossed in the charming beauty of Nymph Urvashi, Vishnu did not
know when he painted her figure on his thigh and in this way the very first
painting came into existence
To propogate this knowledge of painting to the world, Vishnu gave this to
Vishvakarma( Creator of mythical cities like Lanka, Indraprastha, Dwarika)

The initiating of painting were found in cave age, through which they painted their
day-to-day life. Bhimbteka or Bhimbetka near Bhopal has the biggest wall painting,
where these paintings are classified into 7 periods/time out of which the oldest is
from 10,000 BC. The earthen wares of Indus Valley, wall paintings of Ajanta,
Ellora, Elephanta & Bagh were made between 4th - 7th century

Ans : 1) Traditional art : in this art from limited techniques, mediums,
methodology and subject matter is used in a particular way/area. The scope of this
art form is limited so this is a typical type of art form.
2)Modern art : it is the art which has worldwide scope without any limitations. No
limitations or boundaries is observed in this art form.
