IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY: Lab questions are broken into PRE-LAB, LAB, and POST-LAB
components. Please review the Ohm’s law, Voltage Divider, KCL, and KVL methods and
complete all of the PRE-LAB sections, BEFORE coming to the lab.

PRE-LAB- Question 1 Check

- Using the color code on the right, calculate the resistance of the provided
resistor on the left.

52.6K +5%(J)

PRE-LAB- Question 2 Check

Answer the following questions and calculate all currents and voltages in the circuit
below-
- What is the KCL equation at node A?
I1=I2+I3
- What are the KVL equations for each loop?
5V=V1+V2, V1=V3+V4
- What are the Ohm’s law equations for each of the resistors?
V1=I1*R1, V2=I1*R2, V3=I3*R3, V4=I4*R4
- Solve for all currents and voltages label in the circuit.

Add additional paper if required.

currents and voltages in the circuit below-

- What is the KCL equation at node A?

I1=I2+I3
- What are the KVL equations for each loop?
-5V+I1*R1+2.5V=0, -2.5V+I2*R2+I3*R3
- What are the Ohm’s law equations for each of the resistors?
V1=I1*R1, V2=I2*R2, V3=I3*R3

voltage across each resistor and then employ ohm's law to get the current.

The following steps describe how to use the ADALM2000 wires to get the desired
voltages:
1. Connect the circuits as directed in the problem 2.
2. Connect it to a 5V power source.
3. Then, using the ADALM2000's Ch 1+ and Ch 1-, measure the voltages across each
resistance.
4. Finally, apply ohm's law to determine the equivalent current value.

Table-
Voltage (V) Calculated Values Measured Values
V1 2.41V 2.31V
V2 2.49V 2.45V
V3 1.097V 0.77V
V4 1.392V 1.6V

Current (A) Calculated Values Measured Values

I1 24.1mA 23.02mA
I2 21.9mA 21.3mA
I3 2.2mA 1.61mA
I4 2.41mA 1.72mA
* Current through (R4) is I4

Post- Lab – Step 1: What are methods have you used to analyze the circuit of PRE-LAB-
Question 2?
First, I used KCL Identify what the current flow was, than finding V1. After that I found
total resistance to find the current through each resistor, and using Ohms law and KVL to
find the rest of the voltages and currents.

Post- Lab – Step 2 Fill in the blanks below:

Current is the same through each resistance in a series circuit, and Voltage is the same
across each component in a parallel circuit.

Post- Lab – Step 3 Turn this sheet in to the TAs for grading. Attach a copy of the Word
doc with your Figures and answers.
