Hello LightBox Expo friend!
I’m very excited to share this Sampler MaxPack with you. It’s an all star team of some of my favorite
Procreate brushes, at least one from every MaxPack I’ve released to date. On page 2 you’ll find why I
chose the brushes I included in this pack, and on page 3 I’ve included installation instructions.
If you enjoy these brushes, you’ll find a lot more to love at maxpacks.com. Be sure to use the code

Brushes
Sketchy Sarmento - Featured Artist Brush
One of my favorite pencils, and named after and developed with the guidance of the incredible
Raf Sarmento. Be sure to check out our interview to learn more about him and his beautiful artwork
and what inspired this brush collaboration.
Vis Dev Sketch - Retro MaxPack
While working on a film recently, I found myself wanting something that was able to create
presentation worthy linework that was cleaner than a pencil but subtler than an inker. It has a bit of
streamline on it for clean gestures and smooth lines.
Gouache Retro - Retro MaxPack
This brush family featured in the Retro MaxPack is my love letter to Mary Blair. This one is thick and
bold with strong pebbly texture on the edges and a bit of internal transparency as if you’re picking
up or dragging paint, like you’d see in real gouache.
Watercolor Flow Flat - Watercolor MaxPack
This is my personal favorite brush from the Watercolor MaxPack. The Procreate 5 brush engine
enabled me to make some of my most sophisticated and subtle brushes ever. The feel of this brush is
so realistic you won’t believe it’s digital. This is just a small taste of what you’ll find in that pack.
Gouache Gritty Natural v2.0 - Gouache MaxPack v2.0
My beloved Gouache MaxPack got a free update to take advantage of the great new features of the
updated Procreate 5 brush engine, and this Gouache Gritty Natural v2.0 is showing off more realistic
dry brush effects at low opacity and a few tweaks behind the scenes. It’s one of my go to brushes.
Toothy Inker - Comics MaxPack
My absolute favorite Inker to this day and a desert island brush. It feels just like your favorite pocket
brush, and it has just enough paper grain to feel like you’re in a well worn sketchbook.
Paint Bristle - Painter’s MaxPack
A versatile bristle brush is a must for any artist, and this is one of my best. It’s got texture for days,
and when you tilt the Apple Pencil, you’ll see it transform into my favorite dry brush. The Painter’s
MaxPack is a budget friendly pack full of gems like this one.
Shader Pastel - Essential MaxPack
A favorite of MaxPacks users since the very beginning. Beloved among those who want a lovely, soft
shader with a bit of structure. A staple brush for every Procreate painter.
Installation
To load the brushes into Procreate, please first confirm that you are up to date with your iPadOS
software and are using Procreate 5+.
Begin by downloading the .brushset to your iPad, using the file manager of your choice like the
native iPadOS Files app, Dropbox, or whatever you are comfortable with.
Using the Files app, you should be able to tap on the .brushset file to load it directly into Procreate.
If that doesn’t work, you can use the split view feature to bring up Procreate and your file manager
up at the same time. Drag the .brushset file into Procreate. Sometimes it is necessary to drag the
.brushset file directly into your brush window in Procreate.
You can also export from the Dropbox app by tapping the “...” next to the .brushset file and choosing
“Export” and selecting Procreate from the menu.
