REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
No one has ever thought that after the day of March 15, 2020 lives would have been far
different from what we normally do. A life changing suspension I thought would last for only
couple of weeks later changed my college life. But how does it really change me as a student and
a person in general?
Covid-19 pandemic has brought so much trials and skips in my life. Everyone is clearly
not prepared with this problem. However, the pandemic does not stop us from learning.
Consequently, the University introduced us into a new form of learning which is the online class.
Apparently, online form of learning is the most alternative way to provide quality education while
not sacrificing the safety of the students. Truly, a suitable approach that is still conducive to
learning.
Until online class became part of my routine and honestly, taking online class is not easy.
It takes a lot of time management, discipline, determination, and focus. Personally, I have had a
hard time in adjusting to this new form of learning and trying to find what kind of study habits
works best for me. In addition to this are the factors that greatly impacted online class just like the
internet connection and unpredictable power outage. All these and more makes it harder for the
new learning setting.
Nevertheless, everything that had happened and all the change that occurred made me
realized a couple of lessons in life. It made me appreciate more the value of time that we sometimes
taken for granted. The moments we all wasted for no reason. The essence of helping and reaching
out to people without expecting in return. The importance of following protocols and
implementations from the government and the preciousness of reflecting to one’s action which
would mentally help you along this trying times.
Above all, the change it brought me as a student. I learned that everything would fall in
accordance with your plan if you worked hard for it. Yes, online class is never easy. It is a teamed
work from the professors and of course majority from oneself, from me. Along with it, I must be
disciplined to comply all my academic works. Also, equipped with the value of time management
because in our respective homes we are not only a student but also a son/daughter where we
comply duties from our parents as well. Moreover, I realized the importance of relieving one’s
stress because how can you remained focus as a student if you are stress with what is going on
around you. And that is important.
Accordingly, I still hope to find an end with all these that is happening with the world. That
one day, we could all go back to normal, and we could survive this journey. For now, let us work
as one whole nation fighting against this unseen enemy and above all, let us seek guidance from
God.
