人工智能的兴起给人类带来了很多好处,但也有很多机构比如高校、政府部门禁止学生或工作人员使用人工智能软件。对于人工智能的利弊,
你的看法是什么?

Artificial intelligence has been around for years, but barely has it found itself in
conversation as much as it has now. The launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT rocketed
generative AI onto the radar of many people, including those who hadn’t been paying
much attention to the technology. At the same time, the rise of generative AI also
arouse some worries. For example some workers fear being replaced by AI. But in my
view, AI is inevitable and there is a lot to be excited about it.
First, AI can help us expand daily ideas and solutions. ChatGPT, a chatbot, can
also function as a personal assistant. Given a prompt, it generates text based on
natural language processing to give you an accessible and readable response. For
example, you can ask it to generate a marketing plan or summary stuff for you. It can
also help you brainstorm and generate new ideas. There is a lot of potential for
workers to step outside of the box with the assistance of generative AI.
Second, AI can help us increase accuracy. For instance, generative AI also does a
good job in spotting errors or inaccuracies in text and checking grammatical errors
that we may overlook. Some people may argue that while AI can identify problems,
humans still need to correct them. But AI can identify these issues faster and often
more accurately than humans alone.
In conclusion, though many people now are still skeptical about AI and worried
about the future of it, AI is growing fast and its full potential has yet to be realized. As
workers or students, we should embrace it and push ourselves into AI fluency. At the
same time, we call for the government to impose tighter regulation on this industry to
make it a perfect assistant for humanity.

人工智能的兴起让很多人担心未来自己的工作会被 AI 所替代。对此你的看法是什么?

Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, there have been concerns that
new machines will rob the workers of their jobs. While eventually the humans have
prevailed. Today, witnessing the rise of AI, workers again fear being replaced by it. In
my opinion, some workers will be replaced by AI, but not all.
The robots really are coming for some jobs. According to a report from Goldman
Sachs, AI that is capable of content generation could do a quarter of all the work
currently done by humans. The report further notes that across the European Union
and the US, 300 million jobs could be lost to AI robots. The majority of the workers
who will be defeated by AI will be those who are less skillful and work for some
repetitive tasks, such as the assemble line workers, the parcel sorters and the bank
tellers.
Thankfully, it’s not all bad news. There are still things AI isn’t capable of---tasks
that involve distinctly human qualities, like emotional intelligence. The first would be
jobs that are genuinely creative. For example, in science, medicine and law fields,
there are many people whose job is coming up with a new law strategy or designing
an experiment procedure, which AI is not intelligent enough to complete. The second
insulated category is jobs that require sophisticated interpersonal relationships, such
as nurses, investigative journalists and business consultants. These are jobs where
workers need a very deep understanding of people. I think it will be a long time
before AI has the ability to interact in the ways that really build relationships.
To sum up, AI is going to replace some workers in some fields, but there are
some jobs computers are not taking, at least for a while. Don’t forget that 60% of jobs
done today didn’t exist in the first half of the 20 th century. In addition, the rise of AI
will also add new jobs such as machine learning specialist, data analyst. Ideally, we
want to use AI to create new products, new industries and new lines of work.
