- Pattern Notes -
* This pattern is for your personal use only. Do not sell, share, or distribute this
pattern in any way. Feel free to sell handmade items from this pattern in a limited
number. If you are going to sell this item, please include in the item description <This
item was made from a design and pattern by Imagined Yarn.=

● This pattern includes a couple different ways to make your baby dragon, with 2
different types of wings, and 3 different head ornamentations.
● Instead of buying round markers, I use scraps of yarn to mark the beginning of
each round. In some pictures you might notice a marker.
● This pattern is written in US crochet terms.
● All rounds in this pattern are worked continuously, not in joined rounds. In
other words, each round is worked directly after another so there is no visible
seam on the outside.
● Feel free to message me on Etsy with any questions you may have!
● Measurements (Made with suggested yarn and hook): Height - 5’’/13cm, Full
Wingspan - 7’’/18cm (Feather Wings - 10=/25cm)

Materials
● Recommended hook size - 3.75 (F) crochet hook
● 6 mm safety eyes
● Light Worsted weight (3) or Sport weight (2) yarn in any color(s)
○ Approximate yarn amount - 75 yds
○ You can use any size yarn instead of the recommended size, but I cannot
guarantee that your project will turn out exactly the same as intended
due to the natural spiral of the crochet rounds. Change your safety eye
size to match your yarn if needed.
● Yarn needle and pins
● Scissors and Stufûng
● (Optional) Wire- around 18 gauge wire is recommended, but any size wire is ûne
as long as it's strong enough, and wire cutters if needed.
○ Note- To reuse, I sometimes use old wire or wire taken out from old
spiral-bound notebooks. Just straighten the wire after removal, and then
you can use it or wrap it around other wire to create stronger pieces.

Head and Body

The Head, body, and tail are worked in one piece.
Note - In the body, there will be rounds containing rows referred to as buildup
rounds. This means that in the middle of some rounds, there will be rows on
half of the round so that one side of the body will curve. The ûrst buildup round
will begin at round 9 of the body. Phrases such as <Sc 1 down into the next
stitch= and <Sc 1 up into the next stitch= will appear in these rounds, which
mean to Sc 1 into the next stitch space whether it be down a round level, or up
a round level. Sometimes rows of these buildup rounds will go over the start of
the round, but don’t worry about it, as the ûnal stitch of the round will always
end on the correct ending stitch.

Assembly
● Pin the front and back legs to the body so that they match the images below.
Make sure your dragon can stand and balance well. Then sew the legs on.
Weave in the ends.

● If you made the tummy piece, place it on the

belly of your dragon so the top touches the
bottom of the head. Make sure it is on the
center of the body. When you are satisûed
with the positioning, pin and sew it on (I
sewed the tummy to my dragon with a running
stitch). Weave in the ends.

No Wire Dragon Wings Assembly (To the body)

● Taking both of your wings, pin them to the
sides of the body. When you are satisûed with
the positioning, sew them on using the long
tails from the wings. Weave in the ends.

*Note - if you would like your dragon to hold an object but be able to switch it out,
you can stitch your dragon's front paws together. If you would like your dragon to
hold something, but not keep the arms together permanently, you can pin the front
paws together.
