Re: Audit of Summer Placement Report for the batch 2023-25 of Post-Graduate
Programme in Management (PGP)

We have audited the data related to location, function & stipend as presented in the Placement
Report prepared by IIM Ahmedabad for the Summer Internship Placement (based on the offers
received and accepted on campus) for the batch of Post-Graduate Programme in Management of
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) for 2023-25.
The preparation of the Placement Report is the responsibility of llM Ahmedabad. Our responsibility
is to validate the information related to location, function & stipend provided in the report with the
relevant documentation and comment on the conformance of those with the Indian Placement
Reporting Standards (IPRS) Revision 2.2.

In this context, we confirm the following:


1. For the purpose of the audit, we have obtained all the information and explanations which
to the best of our knowledge and belief were necessary. In our opinion, the Placement
Report complies with the Indian Placement Reporting Standards Revision 2.2.

2. The validation of information presented in the report is based on communication received


by IIMA from recruiting companies. 821< Analytics (formerly known as Brickworks Analytics)
has not independently sourced any information or documentation directly from the
recruiters.

3. We have verified the information with respect to location, function & stipend presented in
the report with the communication received by IIMA from the recruiters.

4. The acceptance of offers by the students has been established through written
communication from those students.
a. Out of 404 students eligible for summer placements, S students opted out of the
placement process.
b. Out of 399 students who sought placement through the institute, details for S
students could not be verified due to non-availability of data.

S. We have only audited the data related to location, function & stipend in the Placement
Report and not the placement overview section or any additional information presented in
the report.

6. Wherever information was missing reasonable assumptions have been made.

Overview
The summer placement process for the PGP-MBA Class of 2025 of the Post Graduate
Programme (PGP) in Management at llM Ahmedabad was successfully completed in
November 2023 in hybrid mode. Firms from multiple domains participated across the three
clusters in Summer Placements, with all students being placed across more than 20 cohorts.
The successful completion of the recruitment cycle for the batch stands testament to the high
quality of students at the institute and the robust nature of the placement process that
provides adequate flexibility to both students and recruiters.

Placement Process
Over 120 firms participated with 170 different roles in the summer placement process in
2023. Firms were grouped into cohorts based on the industry and sector, and groups of
cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters. As in previous years, students were
provided the flexibility of making “dream” applications to firms of their choice in a subsequent
cluster, even with an offer in hand. Around 96 students made over 145 dream applications
this year. This gave students the flexibility and choice to build careers in sectors of their
preference.

Sectoral overview
Firms from different sectors participated in the process at lIM Ahmedabad. Recruiters in the
management consulting domain included McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group,
Bain & Company, Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D. Little, Strategy&, Auctus Advisors,
Kepler Cannon. Niche Consulting included Redseer Strategy Consultants, LEK Consulting.
Advisory consulting included KPMG and PwC.

Prominent recruiters in the Investment Banking and Markets space included Avendus Capital,
Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and HSBC. In the
Private Equity and Venture Capital domain, we saw the participation of firms like Westbridge
Capital, WhiteOak Capital Asset Management, RTP Global, Multiple Alternate Asset
Management, and I Squared Capital.
Consumer goods and durables, consumer services, and consumer electronics cohorts saw
participation by regular recruiters like AB lnBev, Airtel, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Dabur,
Diageo, HUL, ITC, Loreal, Mondelez, Nestle, P&G, Samsung Electronics, Tata Play and Wipro
Consumer Care, among others.

The conglomerates cohort saw participation from Adani, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Group,
JSW, RPG Group, and Tata Administrative Services, among others. Retail B2B & B2C cohort
consisted of firms like Amazon, Flipkart and Ninjacart. In the Pharma & Healthcare cohort,
firms like Glenmark, Alkeni Laboratories, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and Dr. Reddy’s participated.
The Consumer Tech cohort comprised firms like ala Electric, Karkinos, and Zomato.
Enterprise Tech consisted of companies like Adobe, Atlassian Corporation, Google, Ikigai Labs
and Media.Net. The Renewable Energy and Green Tech cohort saw participation from Renew
Power.

Banking & Insurance sector saw participation from firms like Universal Sompo General
Insurance. Merilytics and Tata Consultancy Services participated in the IT Consulting cohort,
and Saint Gobain, Suzuki Motor Corporation and Tata Steel in the Core Manufacturing &
Infrastructure cohort.

There were 34 new recruiters this year, including Faering Capital, WhiteOak Capital, Diageo
India, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages etc.

Top Recruiters
In the Management Consulting cohort, Boston Consulting Group was the top recruiter with
22 offers, followed by 6am & Company with 16 offers, followed by McKinsey & Company
with 11 offers. In the Advisory Consulting domain, PwC made the maximum offers - 13 and
in the Niche Consulting sector, Accenture made 19 offers and Synergy Consulting made 4
offers. Goldman Sachs was the highest recruiter in Investment Banking and Markets cohort
with 9 offers. In the Consumer Goods, Consumer Electronics and Consumer Services domain,
HUL extended the most offers 9, followed by Procter & Gamble with 6 offers, followed by
Diageo with S offers. With 11 offers, Mahindra stands as the largest recruiter in the
Conglomerates cohort followed by Adani with 10 offers, Aditya Birla Group with 8 offers.
Amazon was the highest Retail B2B & B2C recruiter with 7 offers. In the IT Consulting cohort,
Tata Consultancy Services was the largest recruiter with 19 offers.

Entrepreneurship
IIM Ahmedabad has always encouraged students to take up entrepreneurship as a career and
this year, 2 students opted out of summer placement process to work on their own ventures
as part of the IlMAvericks, under the guidance and mentorship of IIMA Ventures (formerly
known as IIMA- dIE).
