COMPETITION MECHANICS

Dance Supremacy Kings & Queens is open to all bona fide High School and College Students, all male and
all female, enrolled for the school year 2024 - 2025. Open to groups residing inside and outside the
Philippines.

Grand Finals will happen on January 25, 2025 at Solaire Theatre, Parańaque City, Philippines.

CATEGORIES
● DS Kings High School (All-Male)
● DS Kings College (All-Male)
● DS Queens High School (All-Female)
● DS Queens College(All-Female)

*Gender indicated on a person's birth certificate

*Senior High School students can fall under the High School or College Category depending on their
school’s system. Groups with this case must inform ACTS Events for further clarification.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. The dance crew must have a minimum of seven (7) and a maximum of forty (40) members
2. All members of each dance crew should be officially and currently enrolled for the school year 2024 to
2025, with all members enrolled in the same school.
3. Members for High School Division crews should be 12 to 19 years old, while members for College Division
crews should be 16 to 24 years old.
4. A school may be represented by a maximum of two (2) groups only.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Fully accomplished Entry and Waiver form

2. Signed Competition Mechanics by the Official Representative of the group
3. Clear Photocopy or Scanned Copy of Valid School ID of each members
4. Clear Scanned copy or photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate or Passport of each member
5. Proof of enrollment of each member - i.e. School Registration Form, Certification from the Registrar with
school seal.
6. Group Logo (High Resolution)
7. School Logo (High Resolution)
8. Group Write Up (Introduction spiel of the group)
9. PHP 1000 Registration Fee per member.
10. PHP 500 Registration Fee per Chaperone (maximum of 4 Chaperones per group).

REGISTRATION PROCESS

STEP 1: Interested groups must enlist online by October 30, 2024, at

https://www.actseventsmanagement.com/dancesupremacy. Please note that enlisting
online does not guarantee your group a slot. However, those who enlist online will be
prioritized in the next steps.

STEP 2: Once you successfully enlist online, you will receive a confirmation email. Please pay the
registration fee as soon as you receive this confirmation. Slots are limited and will be
allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

STEP 3: Email the deposit slip to [email protected], including your group's name.
You will receive a confirmation once your email is received. Your group's slot is secured
once payment is confirmed. If all slots are filled, registration will close, and those who miss
out will be notified immediately.

Registration fee is non-refundable.

PERFORMANCE AND STAGE RULES

Genre

Participating groups can perform any Street Dance Style but is not limited to Street Dance alone. Using
other genres such as contemporary, ballet, interpretative, or tribal, etc. that will help the group in portraying
the concept of their piece is allowed and encouraged.

Music

Maximum of 2:30 (no grace period beyond 2:30; no minimum)

*no grace period beyond the maximum time limit
*music should not contain any foul language

List of all song title and its artist/s is required to be submitted as well.

AVP (Audio-Visual Presentation) / Visualizer

Background Video during the performance is allowed and encouraged but not required. It should already
contain the music to be performed by the group. Standard video resolution is 3024 x 1080 @ 30FPS.
Video should not contain any inappropriate images and visuals.

Props/Set

Handheld Props & Huge Props/set will be allowed given that the group members will be able to set it up within
their 30 seconds entrance/pre-set. Strictly no construction of sets on stage. Detailed list & photos of props must
be submitted. Details must include measurements, dimensions, material, etc.

Any props or substances that could compromise the dryness, cleanliness, or safety of the stage are not
allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, confetti, powder, paint, liquids, fire, and similar materials.

Costume

Groups will also be allowed to wear any costume as long as it will be good taste and wholesome, and not
offensive.

Lights

Lighting effects are limited to basic mood lights only. No special light programming request will be entertained.
Rest assured that a professional Light Director is present to manage a visually appealing lighting setup for the
group’s performance.

If the group have a specific light cueing/timing, a representative of the team must be present at the techbooth
during rehearsal and event proper. “Lights Script” will not be entertained.

Group Intro Video

This is a 30-second to 1-minute Video Introduction of the group that includes the following:

​ ● Invitation to support your team on the upcoming Dance Supremacy 2024
​ ● It may also include any of the following: group chant, group hand sign, signature moves, gimmicks, etc.

​ Chaperones
​
Each group is allowed to have a maximum of 4 official group chaperones. Chaperones could be anyone that will
accompany the group (ie. Coach, Choreographer, Guardian, Makeup Artist, etc).

​ Chaperones will have the same backstage access as the members of the group. Chaperones will not have a
ticket access at the audience area.

Audience Support will be determined through online voting on a private Facebook page, exclusive to ticket
buyers and participants. This also allows supporters outside Manila to vote.

Online Voting will end after the last performing group per division.
