DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN GENERAL BIOLOGY 2

CONTENT STANDARD:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of basic taxonomic concepts
and principles, description, nomenclature, identification and classification.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learners shall be able to differentiate the 5 – Kingdom Scheme of
classification of living things.

Date: March 11, 2019

Time: 11:30 – 12:30
Section: STEM - D

I. LEARNING COMPETENCIES

The learners should be able to to:

 STEM_BIO11/12IIIh – j15 – Identify the unique/ distinctive
characteristics of a specific taxon relative to other taxa.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:

1. describe the unique/ distinctive characteristics of a specific

kingdom.
2. classify the organisms based on their habitat and
characteristics.
3. recognize the different activities or practices used in naming
organisms.
II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Topic: Introduction to Taxonomy

Greetings
Good Morning class! Good Morning Ma’am Rouse Leanne!
Good morning classmates. God Bless you!

Classroom Management

Before you take your seats, kindly

arrange your chairs carefully and
check if there are pieces of paper.

Checking of Attendance

Secretary of the class, who are the

absent today? Ma’am, I’m glad to tell you that no one of
my classmate is absent today.

Thank you Ms. Secretary, I’m also

glad that all of you are present
today.

Review

Class, before we proceed to our

new lesson, let us have first our
review regarding our previous
lesson. I prepared a game.
I will flash a horizontal puzzle that
you need to answer.

Each group will have a

representative that means for every
flash of boxes there is a different
members that represents their
group.

The first group to get 5 points will

win in this game and will receive a
bonus points for the next activity.

Did you understand, Class? Yes, we did ma’am!

That’s good!

Go now to your respective groups

Alright, I’m glad that all of you

understand our previous lesson.

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES

Motivation

As you can see, there are pictures

spread out everywhere. Your task is
to describe the characteristics that
will assign to your group.

I will give you a Characteristic Chart

and a Highlighter and all you have
to do is to highlight the properties of
the kingdom.

You have 5 minutes to finish your
activity and 2 minutes for your

have created so that the illustration
matches the English definitions.
