1. Introduction
An AOM 2000 unit is an Analogue Output Module that provides four 4 – 20 mA signals to control
the speeds of four different variable speed drives on a sorting machine.

The AOM 2000 unit is used to provide 4 channels of analogue output. The physical interface is a
4-20mA current loop. Current is sourced by the unit. In addition there are 4 dry contact
changeover relay outputs intended for providing isolated start/stop signals to a variable speed
drive. There are also 4 optically isolated inputs that provide motor/VSD fault/run status feedback
to the Compac system.
These IOs are all available via a D37 way connector. The unit is provided with a small breakout
board with quick connect connectors for direct wire termination.
Additionally there is 15 Standard SAM IO available of other auxiliary SAM IO as required.

2. Input/Output summary
• 4x 4-20mA Current loop interface outputs – Controlling the speed of VSD
• 4x Isolated dry contact outputs (Changeover – NO+NC+Common). Starting/stopping VSD
• 4x Optically isolated inputs – Monitoring the RUN/FAULT status of the VSD
• 15x SAM Inputs/ Outputs – General SAM IO functions.
