Break View
With the Break View it becomes possible to cut away parts of your long models, so it can be
shown in a larger scale. An example of this is illustrated at the Spirit Levels tool below:

Section Views
SOLIDWORKS works with four different section views, horizontal, vertical, aligned, and auxiliary
section views. The horizontal and vertical views are locked to be either horizontal or vertical,
while the auxiliary section view can be defined freely in between. With the aligned section view, it
is possible to split the model in different sections without the use of a straight line: Two examples
are illustrated below:

Broken-Out Section View


With the Broken-Out Section View, you can cut away a specific part of your model. Similar to
doing an Extrude Cut in the modelling mode, this view cuts a specified depth from a sketch. In the
spatula example below, the lower picture shows the spatula from the end, with a cut to the hole of
the shaft.

Additional Views
You do not need a deeper understanding of the additional views, these views should give you the
basic understanding of what the views do. The Auxiliary View is very similar to the Projected
View, but is unfolded to the referenced edge.
