Advice^^ Preliminary^

• Get a guide to wild plants. Little by little, you will become familiar and,
with a little interest, every day you will meet more species.

• Always select healthy specimens that are far from roads and
contaminated places.

• Make sure they are not fertilized or chemically fumigated: herbicides and
pesticides are not pleasant for these purposes either. Logically, the
wildest, most neglected places far from agricultural land are the best.

2
• Do not harvest on rainy days, you would run the risk of your harvest
becoming moldy.

• Get a wicker basket: although it seems more practical to use a plastic bag,
this material, by conserving heat, causes the plants to sweat and
decompose in a very short time.

• Select the most tender parts of the leaves, and the flowers as closed as
possible.

• Be careful never to uproot the plants, this way the plant will continue its
evolutionary process and other people, or who knows what you are, will
be able to benefit from its properties on another occasion.

• Respect all those species that are protected due to danger of extinction.

• With the collection you can obtain creams, herbal oils, liqueurs, tinctures,
essences, softeners,
hair masks, etc.
• You have to keep in mind that you can never allow yourself to fail.

choose a plant wrong. If you're not completely sure, it's best to leave it in
place.

• Try to prepare a small amount of any of the formulas: remember that the
preservatives are natural and, in some cases, the cosmetic lasts a very
short time without losing its properties. As you become familiar with the
product, you can gradually modify the formula to adapt it to your needs
and tastes.

• Creams and other products must be homogeneous, therefore you will

have to beat them well until you achieve a comfortable texture that is easy
to apply.

• Use adhesive labels to name your preparations. It's the only way to
distinguish them. You will avoid more than one confusion, especially
when you get used to natural cosmetics and almost all your cosmetics are
formulated by you.

• The basic ingredients of natural cosmetics do not include those that

generally cause skin allergies: excipients, silicones, paraffins,

3
preservatives and artificial colorants, which are not usually products of
natural origin. This does not guarantee that some recipes may cause
allergic reactions, remember that each human being reacts differently. If a
person is allergic to peach, they will not be able to use a mask that
contains that fruit.

• If you have any doubts about a cosmetic, you can first test it on the skin of
the inner side of the forearm, an extremely sensitive area: any negative
effect or intolerance will be evident in a few minutes.

Hygiene is an essential daily practice for the good health of your skin. For
this we will use products designed especially for this need. These must
have a series of qualities so that they are not aggressive and, in this way,
avoid a possible imbalance in the natural pH.

Choosing the right product can become an arduous task: cleansing milks,
soaps, makeup removing oils or makeup removing wipes invade the
shelves of beauty centers, perfumeries, pharmacies and even
supermarkets.

On the other hand, there is the option of making your cosmetic at home
using a grandmother's recipe.

L ech^ cleaner^ d^ lime^ ^ yogu^

The lemon was introduced to Europe by the Arab people. It is part of the
Mediterranean culture, and is not missing in any home. It is widely used
in recipes for facial, body and hair products, and is also highly
appreciated as a flavoring in countless cosmetic products.

There are many beneficial effects that yogurt brings us, in addition to being
a very common food within our civilization, it is widely used in
cosmetics, especially natural.

This ingredient usually appears in countless recipes collected over time. It is

appropriate for oily skin and acne problems, since most pathogenic
organisms are attacked by the acid it contains. If you have enough time,
try making your own artisanal yogurt, not only for cosmetic purposes,
but also for nutritional purposes.

This mixture is ideal for gently removing makeup. I assure you that many
people use it daily. Mix a tablespoon of natural yogurt with a teaspoon of
lemon juice in a bowl. Apply this to your face and neckline.

4
mix, and remove it with a cotton pad.

L ech^ d^ almond^
Almonds are a food that has been consumed since medieval times. Almond
oil is one of the oldest in cosmetics, and has been used in the daily
recipes of many famous beauties throughout history. Today it remains a
main component of numerous commercial cosmetic preparations. If you
try this mixture, I am sure that you will join the countless list of followers
of it. It is a soft, silky fluid that is easy to apply.

Grind a few peeled almonds (you can use a coffee grinder to do this). Mix
four teaspoons of ground almonds and 125 ml of whole milk. Beat
everything and place the mixture in a container, preferably glass. Stir the
mixture frequently, and let it sit; After eight hours, you can use it. Store it
in the refrigerator, so you can apply it for approximately three days after
its preparation. It is ideal for removing makeup from dry skin. You can
also use it as a body moisturizer after a shower or bath.

City^ d^ Oj^^ ^ Eyelid^^

Even if your eyes are big and bright, they can look half as beautiful as they
really are if wrinkles and dark circles take over, even if your expression
changes.

The eye area is the most fragile area of the face. Poor in water and fat, it
looks much more unprotected when changes in environmental
temperature occur continuously.

With a little daily care you will be able to keep away those little wrinkles that
reveal our age.

Removed makeup^
This is an old recipe that is very easy to make.

Mix two tablespoons of castor oil and another two of almond oil in a
container, stir it well and package it in a comfortable container. Don't
forget to shake it every time you use it. This is how easy and cheap it will
be for you to make this makeup remover.

Make sure not to get this or any other product in your eyes, no matter how
anti-allergenic and specific it may be.

5
ANTI-EYE PAG INFUSION

Prepare a strong infusion of rose petals. Leave the container covered for at
least two hours. Strain it and apply it in compresses to your eyes and
eyelids.

MILK COMPRESSES

If one day you wake up with swollen eyes after a long party, or a short night,
try the following trick that works for many women.

Apply cotton compresses soaked in very cold milk. Relax for a little while
with your eyes closed and place the cotton pads on them.

Mask^ d^ Beauty^
Masks are an extra beauty cure. Who has not ever worn one of these
cosmetics?

Most women who take care of themselves use them regularly.

Facial masks, essential to show off a perfect complexion, are an excellent

beauty treatment that we can do in our own home.

Its main objective is to help prolong and maintain the youth and good
condition of the skin.

The face regains firmness, features rest and wrinkles are diminished.

Mask^ d^ yeast^ d^ beer^

Brewer's yeast comes from the brewing process of this drink. It is rich in
vitamins B and H, potassium, phosphorus and calcium, and is highly
recommended for both external and internal use. This product, which
cleanses, nourishes and normalizes the skin, can be found in any herbal
or health food store. Yeast is very appropriate for all those people who
have dry, dehydrated and tired skin.

It reduces existing wrinkles, provides luminosity to the face and increases

the hydration rate in the upper layers of the epidermis. It also accelerates
the natural repair of cells damaged by sun exposure.

Put a coffee-sized teaspoon full of flaked brewer's yeast in a container. Add

6
two egg yolks and two teaspoons of light honey. Next, half a teaspoon of
cider vinegar and two teaspoons of sour cream.

Beat everything, preferably with an electric mixer. If it is too thick, you can
add a splash of whole milk.

Apply the mask and leave it on your face for approximately twenty minutes.
Remove it and immediately apply your usual treatment cream.

You can use it once a week. You will see how day after day you

skin improves greatly.

EGG WHITE MASK

This is one of the best known recipes and most put into practice by Spanish
women. Its ingredients are present in all culinary cupboards, it will leave
you with beautiful skin in perfect condition to present at any party or
family gathering.

Easy, simple and economical, this formula can be used on dry, damaged
skin, lacking vitality and natural shine.

Thanks to its properties, it helps to firm the skin, restoring its elasticity and
tone. It also has a preventive action against skin aging and a lifting effect
that softens wrinkles.

Beat an egg white until stiff and, when it is ready, add a teaspoon of honey,
preferably with a fluid texture. Enrich the mixture with twenty drops of
almond oil and stir it very, very well. Apply it to your face and neck for
approximately twenty minutes; If you let this time pass and keep it on
your face, it will not be counterproductive, on the contrary, it can be
beneficial. Remove it like all masks: water and more water until there is
no trace of it left.

Put it on once a week and forget about wrinkles.

FRESH CHEESE MASK

This mask is indicated for skin with excess oil. Helps clean pores and
relaxes skin.
Put in a container a portion of skimmed fresh cheese, the juice of half a
lemon, a tablespoon of skimmed milk and a small teaspoon of honey.

7
Beat the mixture with a blender and apply the result to perfectly clean
skin. Leave it on for fifteen minutes and remove with fresh water.

Hydration
Our way of life, environmental pollution, lack of sleep and rest, stress,
sudden changes in temperature, tobacco and alcohol consumption and
abuse of sun exposure push us towards a lack of oxygenation and
towards an alteration of the metabolic balance which, as a consequence,
leads to accelerated premature aging of the skin and, gradually, the skin
becomes duller, more fragile, wrinkled and lacks luminosity and tone.

On the other hand, the production of natural collagen and elastin slows
down over time, and the harmful effects appear in our lives: the dreaded
wrinkles!

The loss of balance in the degree of humidity gives a dry, rough and
unhealthy appearance to our skin. Using a good moisturizing cream, with
the necessary capacity to retain water molecules and also form an
invisible protective film capable of preventing its evaporation upon
contact with air, provides an immediate improvement in the condition of
the skin.

Cream^ d^ peach^
The pleasant aroma of peach makes it part of a wide variety of cosmetics:
shampoos, body creams, hair softeners, perfumes, moisturizing creams...

But in addition to having a pleasant smell, this fruit is an excellent

moisturizer, softener and nourisher for tired skin.

Mix the following ingredients in a container: a tablespoon of natural

beeswax, a pinch of borax, forty drops of peach oil and fifteen drops of
wheat germ oil. Put it in a bain-marie and, once it is melted, turn off the
heat and blend everything with the blender.

If you think it is too thick, add a little to

a little a few drops of rose water. And... ready to use!

HONEY CREAM

Honey is notable for its great bactericidal power. Contains potassium,

8
sodium, magnesium, iron, copper, phosphorus, manganese, calcium,
fructose, vitamins B1, B2 and C.

Put a dessert spoon of fluid honey, two tablespoons of almond oil, another
two of cocoa butter and one of liquid lanolin in a container in a bain-
marie. Let it cool and add 1 g of royal jelly, adding rose water little by
little, until you have the desired texture.

Use the electric mixer to achieve a homogeneous mixture. Applied all over
the body, it will accentuate the luminosity of the tan, maintaining it for
longer.

Nutrition

The deterioration of the optimal level of nutrition in the skin triggers a series
of factors that have a decisive influence on skin aging.

Among other things, the tone dulls, wrinkles appear, the cell membrane
loses its fluidity, the function of the sebaceous glands slows down, part
of the hydrolipid film is lost, the skin becomes fragile, being more
affected by any negative external agent, and the Native collagen fibers
become sluggish.

To counteract the harmful effects of all these attacks, it is necessary to

apply a good nourishing cream that helps combat the visible signs of
aging, stimulating and strengthening cells, improving the external
appearance of the skin and helping to reduce small wrinkles.

WHEAT GERM CREAM

As you have already seen, there are many formulas that contain this
ingredient, and its benefits have been known for countless years. Its oil of
great medicinal and cosmetic value and high content of vitamin E and
unsaturated fatty acids makes its presence essential among our beauty
products. It contains vitamin A, making it an effective enemy of skin
infections, and vitamins D, E, F and K, which stimulate skin tissue and
accelerate the regeneration process.
Put the following ingredients in a heat-resistant container: 50 cc of liquid
lanolin, a tablespoon of fluid honey, fifteen drops of glycerin, thirty drops
of wheat germ oil and a coffee-sized teaspoon of lecithin powder. Heat it
in a bain-marie. When all these components are completely melted and
mixed, little by little add two tablespoons of mineral water. If it is more
comfortable for you, you can use our friend the electric mixer, you will
finish much sooner and it will be easier for you.

9
This formula can be applied to all skin types, except very oily ones. It
promotes the repair and protection of the epidermis while softening it.

SESAME CREAM

This formula is appropriate for very dry skin with problems of malnutrition
and wrinkles. Helps repair skin alterations caused by lack of nutrients.
With continued use, you will notice a very satisfactory improvement.

Put 100 cc of sesame oil in a bain-marie, add 50 g of liquid cream, an egg

yolk, a dessert spoon of honey and a pinch of sea salt. Stir very well and
add a tablespoon of soy lecithin. Little by little add 70 cc of cider vinegar,
until you have a creamy cream. If you feel like it, you can add another 100
cc of sesame oil. It all depends on the texture you prefer to apply. It is
simply a matter of trying.

Sun and Tan

If you want to obtain a healthy golden tone, with minimal exposure time and
without risks, apply a tanning accelerator fifteen or twenty days before
exposing yourself to the sun.

TEA TANNER

In a bain-marie, melt one tablespoon of lanolin, one tablespoon of coconut

oil and two tablespoons of sesame oil. Prepare a strong black tea, let it
steep until it is almost cold and mix it well with what you have in a bain-
marie. Package it in a jar, preferably a glass one, and keep it stored in the
refrigerator.

This recipe has been used many times throughout the history of tanning.

However, caution must be taken, since assessing the sun protection index
of homemade products is very difficult, because we often vary the
percentages when preparing the formulas. Therefore, I advise maximum
caution, since the problems caused by excess sun exposure are
increasing every day.

ALOE VERA TANNER

This is one of the interesting recipes that can be made from an aloe vera
leaf. Extract the gelatin from a fresh aloe leaf, you can do this easily by
peeling it with a knife. Add ten tablespoons of wheat germ oil and twenty

drops of coconut essence.

MELON AFTERSUN

If you have overexposed yourself to the sun, try making a kind of paste from
very ripe melon with a blender. You can use it both on the face and on
any reddened area of the skin.

body. Remember that you should never apply any product on burns that
need medical treatment.

Hands

Daily care of your hands will help you keep them in perfect condition and
pamper them the way they deserve:

HAND MASK

Mix a coffee-sized cup of buttermilk with a small glass of chamomile and

lime blossom infusion in equal parts.

Immerse your hands in the mixture for ten minutes. Rinse them, dry them
and apply a good dose of hand cream.

NAIL LOTION

If your nails are fragile and break easily, try applying a very concentrated
infusion of horsetail leaves every day; You can collect it yourself or, if
you don't know the plant, buy it at any herbalist.

Feet

They are the eternally forgotten ones, we only remember them in summer,
when we want to show off some beautiful sandals or expose them to the
sun on the beach or in the pool. However, our feet cry out for our
attention all year round, and they undoubtedly deserve it, as they
transport our heavy bodies from one place to another.

AVOCADO MASK

Lately, in summer, it is very common to wear beautiful sandals that expose

our feet. And, for them to shine, they have to be in perfect conditions of
hydration and nutrition.

Try applying the following preparation after your shower, you will see how
you notice a big difference. Mix a very ripe avocado and half natural
yogurt.

Apply it on your feet and put on some plastic bags to help keep you warm.
You will also feel much more comfortable if you know that you are not
going to stain anything that is near you.

After about twenty minutes, rinse your feet again and apply a moisturizing
body cream or, if necessary, a hand cream. Repeat this treatment
periodically, this way you will keep your feet in perfect condition, at least
during the summer season.

FOOT BATH

Place your feet in a hot water bath to which you have added half a glass of
apple cider vinegar for approximately ten minutes.

Dry them and apply a good dose of warm almond oil. You will notice extreme
softness.

Beautiful legs

The use of certain plants and plant extracts stimulates microcirculation,

resting and relaxing damaged legs: camphor, menthol, witch hazel, horse
chestnut, lemon...

WHEAT GERM CREAM FOR LEGS

Its high content in A, B, D and E is notable; Manganese, cobalt and copper

are also substances contained in this wheat derivative.

Mix two tablespoons of glycerin in a container.

liquid, two more wheat germ oil, two cold-pressed olive oil, one egg yolk
and a dessert spoon of honey.

Apply it all over your body, wait twenty minutes and take a shower with
lukewarm to cool water. You do not need to use gel, it is better that the
water takes care of itself to remove the remains. Your skin will be soft

and radiant.

A good time to use it is in summer, when the skin is drier and needs vitamin
contributions.
