overview
A fully functional Campus Beautification Cell is constituted vide Resolution No. 3 of the
IQAC, Lala Rural College on 26th January in the year 2019 In Lala Rural College, which was
again reconstituted vide Resolution No. 10 of the IQAC, Lala Rural College on 18th January
in the year 2021. The Campus Beautification Cell, often referred to as CBC, is responsible for
enhancing the aesthetics and overall appeal of a college campus. This cell plays a vital role in
creating a positive and attractive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Composition of the cell:
The Campus Beautification Cell is led by a Convenor of the cell and its members who are
passionate about environmental sustainability and campus aesthetics.

Mission of the cell:
The cell is to maintain and enhance the visual appeal and environmental sustainability of the
campus while fostering a sense of pride and community among students and stakeholders.
The responsibilities of the cell are as follows:
a) Landscaping and Greenery: The CBC is responsible for planning, designing, and
maintaining green spaces, gardens, and lawns on the campus. This includes selecting and
planting flowers, shrubs, and trees to beautify the surroundings.
b) Waste Management: Managing waste disposal and recycling initiatives to maintain a clean
and eco-friendly campus environment. This may include organizing waste segregation drives
and awareness campaigns.
c) Cleanliness and Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of common areas,
walkways, and buildings on campus. This may involve organizing regular clean up drives and
maintenance activities.
d) Community Engagement: Engaging students, faculty, and staff in campus beautification
efforts through volunteer programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Encouraging a
sense of ownership and responsibility for the campus's appearance.
Activities of the cell:
The activities of a Campus Beautification Cell (CBC) are diverse and encompass various
initiatives aimed at enhancing the aesthetics, sustainability, and overall appeal of a college
campus. These activities typically involve both short-term and long-term projects. Here are
some common activities that a CBC may undertake:
a) Landscaping and Gardening: Planting and maintaining flowers, trees, shrubs, and
greenery in campus gardens and common areas. Designing and implementing
sustainable landscaping plans to improve the overall appearance of the campus.
b) Artistic Installations: Creating and installing artistic elements, sculptures, murals, or
interactive installations to beautify the campus and add creative flair.
c) Clean up Drives: Organizing regular clean up drives to ensure that the campus is litter-
free and well-maintained. Conducting special clean up events, such as campus-wide
clean ups or riverbank clean ups.
d) Waste Management: Implementing waste reduction and recycling programs on campus.

REPORT
A campus cleaning programme was organised by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC, Lala
Rural College held on 18th July, 2017 (Tuesday). The programme was started from 3:00 pm
onwards in both North and South campuses. The students of Arts and Commerce actively
participated in the activity. The main point of cleaning on that day was the playground of the
North and South Block of the college. The faculty members also encouraged the students in
their works by participating themselves. The non-teaching staff of the college also helped a
lot by supplying brooms, baskets etc. Experts explained about the clean and its benefits in eco
system and environment. The feedback of the students was also in very positive. After the end
of the programme, light refreshment was serving.

The room cleaning activity organised by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC, Lala Rural
College, Lala held on 13th November, 2017 (Monday). The programme as started at 3:00 pm
onwards in both the Northern and Southern campuses. In Northern block, the faculty
members of Commerce stream supervised the activities of the students and in the Southern
block, the faculty members of Arts stream have done the same. The students very sincerely
got involved in this cleanliness drive. The involvement of the faculty members encouraged
them a lot. Also, a good deal of support came from the non-teaching staff. At the end of the
activity, light refreshment has been distributed among the participant.

The tree plantation activity in Lala Rural College held on 23rd August, 2018 (Thursday) at
3:00 pm by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC, Lala Rural College, Lala. The programme of
the plantation was started from 3:30 pm onwards. It was a afford on the part of the college to
increase on the part of the college to increase greenery in the college and also to make the
campus environment friendly. So the students and teachers enthusiastically got involved in
this plantation drive. The saplings have been collected from the district forest office,
Hailakandi. Active participation of both the students and teachers has made the activity
actively a successful one. Experts explain about the necessity of plantation. Responds of the
students were over all satisfactory.

The faculty members and non-teaching staffs also joined the activity. After the end of the
programme, light refreshment was served. The programme ended with a grand success.

REPORT
The tree plantation event organised by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC, Lala Rural
College on 17th August, 2019 (Saturday) at both the campuses. The primary objective of this
event was to contribute to environmental conservation and raise awareness about the
importance of trees in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and enhancing the
overall ecosystem.
The event began with thorough preparation, including site selection, soil testing and acquiring
the necessary saplings. The organising team ensured that the selected location was suitable
for the growth of the chosen the species and they can adaptability to the local climate and
their potential to support local wildlife.
Participants were provided with proper instructions on how to plant the trees correctly. They
were guided to dig to planting holes of adequate depth, place the saplings and backfill the soil
while ensuring proper watering.
During the event, experts conducted educational session on the benefits of trees, the role they
play in carbon sequestration and the importance of preserving our natural environment.
The event encouraged a sense of community and environmental responsibility. It fostered a
strong sense of unity among participants, promoting the importance of collective action in
tacking environment issues.

The class room cleaning task was organised by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC, LRC on
20.03.2020 (Friday) at 3:00 pm. This report provides, the tasks completes and the overall
cleanliness of the room.
The cell arranged all necessary equipment. These included cleaning solutions, disinfectants.
These included cleaning solutions, disinfectants, brooms, vacuum cleaners, microfiber cloths
and personal protective equipment.
The cleaning process commenced with thorough dusting of all surfaces, including desk,
bench, table, chair and window and ground floor also by using appropriate cleaning solutions
and disinfectants. It also ensures proper cleanness and hygiene.
Before the end of the tasks, experts explained the benefits of clean not only in college
campus, it also required in all places where we are living. The students of this college were
also very interested and they have given positive responds.

REPORT
The campus beautification project/ event organised by Campus Beautification Cell, IQAC,
LRC on 23/01/ 2021 (Wednesday) at 3:30pm onwards. The primary aim of this project/ event
was to transform the selected areas of campus into an aesthetically pleasing and functional
space that the students can enjoy while promoting environmental consciousness.
A thorough assessment was conducted to choose the most suitable location of both the
campuses for the beautification project/ event.
The organising team was mainly target to remove plastic materials and other dust raw
materials from the campuses. During the project work, experts explained how the plastic
materials harm to the environment and ecosystem.
The project/ event received positive feedback from the students as the needs and expectations
of the students were highlighted successfully.
The cell expected in future regular maintenance and upkeep of the beautiful field will be
essential to ensure its long-term sustainability and beauty.

disinfectants. It also ensured proper cleanness and hygiene.
Before the completion of the task, many experts from faculty members explained the benefits
of cleanliness in all aspects. The students of this college were also very interested positively.
The cell expects to drive a big event for campus in future with the students.

necessary equipment. In Northern block, the faculty members of Commerce stream

stream have done the same. The students very sincerely got involved in this cleanliness drive.
The faculty members’ involvement made a great encourage to the students also. During the
activity, experts explained about the benefit of clean. The student was also given positive
feedback.
