SYMBOL DESCRIPTION
ELECTRICAL NOTES :-
DISTRIBUTION BOARD
1. ALL ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS, CABLING, COMPONENTS & EQUIPMENT ETC SHALL COMPLY AND TESTED TO LATEST MS IEC STANDARDS AND LOCAL OR STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS.
SUB SWITCH BOARD/ FEEDER PILLAR/ 2. THE MINIMUM SPACE FACTOR FOR ALL CONDUIT AND TRUNKING IS AS PER BELOW :-
METERING PANEL
i. CONDUIT : 40%
CONTROL PANEL
ii. TRUNKING : 45%
CONTACTOR SPACE FACTOR = SUM OF ALL CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF CABLE / EFFECTIVE INTERNAL CROSS SECTIONAL AREA OF CONDUIT/TRUNKING
SHUNT TRIP COIL
ALL ELECTRICAL BOARDS SHALL HAVE 20% SPARE SPACE FOR FUTURE UPGRADES INCLUDING EARTH/NEUTRAL BAR TERMINATIONS
3. ALL EARTHING CABLES SHALL BE SAME MATERIAL & SPECIFICATION AS LINE CONDUCTOR & THE SIZES SHALL BE :
DIGITAL POWER ANALYZER i. LINE CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA, S <= 16 SQ.MM :
EARTHING CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA = S
AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH
ii. LINE CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA, 16 SQ.MM < S <= 35 SQ.MM : EARTHING CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA = 16 SQ.MM
AMMETER
iii. LINE CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA, S > 35 SQ.MM :
EARTHING CONDUCTOR CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA = S / 2
VOLTMETER
4. THE MINIMUM KA RATING, ICU=ICS=ICW FOR CIRCUIT BREAKERS & BUSBAR SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:-
FIREMAN SWITCH i. 65KA FOR ALL MAIN ELECTRICAL BOARDS, MAIN OUTGOING FEEDERS
POWER FACTOR REGULATOR C/W LCD SCREEN
ii. 35KA FOR FOR SUB-DISTRIBUTION BOARD AND MOTOR PANELS
WITH HARMONIC DISPLAY
iii. 10KA FOR FOR END-LOAD DISTRIBUTION BOARD
UNDER VOLTAGE RELAY SENSING FR CABLE
TO SYN. BOARD (BY ELECT. CONTRACTOR) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CARRY HIS OWN FAULT CALCULATIONS (SUBJECT TO ENGINEER'S APPROVAL) ACCORDINGLY TO HIS SHOP DRAWINGS. THE COSTS OF UPGRADE OF KA RATINGS IF NECCESSARY SHALL BE DEEMED INCLUDED.
OVERCURRENT AND EARTH FAULT RELAY
5. ALL CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHALL BE TYPE C CURVE (5-10 X FLA) TYPE, RESIDUAL CURRENT CIRCUIT BREAKER SHALL BE CLASS AC TYPE & CONTACTOR SHALL BE AC-3 (5-10 X FLA) TYPE UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE
6. ALL ELECTRICAL BOARDS, METALLIC EXPOSED PARTS SHALL BE EARTHED TO LESS THAN 3 OHM UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE
EARTH FAULT RELAY
7. ALL ELECTRICAL BOARDS BUSBARS SHALL BE OF HARD DRAWN TINNED COPPER AND SHALL HAVE A DESIGN CURRENT DENSITY OF NOT LESS THAN 1.55A/SQ.MM; SIZED ACCORDINGLY TO THE UPSTREAM/PROTECTION BREAKER. WHEN MORE THAN ONE SET OF BUSBARS ARE USED PER PHASE, APPROPRIATE DERATING FACTOR SHALL APPLY. NEUTRAL BUSBARS SHALL BE SAME SIZED AS
EARTH LEAKAGE RELAY PHASE BUSBARS.
8. COPPER EARTHING BUSBARS SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH BOARD & SIZED ACCORDINGLY TO KA RATING OF BOARD OR CSA OF EARTHING CABLE, WHICHEVER HIGHER
RESIDUAL CURRENT CIRCUIT BREAKER
9. NO CABLE JOINTS ARE ALLOWED ; ALL CABLES SHALL BE CONTINOUS UNTIL SWITCHES/LOADS/TERMINATION POINTS AS PER DRAWINGS.
MOULDED CASE CIRCUIT BREAKER
OR MINIATURE CIRCUIT BREAKER 10. EACH OUTGOING CIRCUIT SHALL HAVE OWN INDIVIDUAL NEUTRAL AND EARTH CABLES. NEUTRAL AND EARTH CABLES SHALL NOT BE SHARED AMONG OUTGOING CIRCUITS.
WITHDRAWAL TYPE ACB C/W SAFETY SHUTTER
11. ALL SWITCHES' CURRENT RATING SHALL BE HIGHER THAN THE CURRENT RATING OF THE CORRESPONDING CIRCUIT PROTECTION MCB.
12. INSULATION, EARTH. POLARITY AND ALL RELEVANT TESTS SHALL BE DONE PRIOR TO COMMISSIONING AND ENERGIZING.
MOTORISED WITHDRAWAL TYPE ACB
C/W SAFETY SHUTTER 13. ALL MAIN INCOMING & OUTDOOR CIRCUITS/LINES & ANY CIRCUITS/LINES IN RISK OF SURGE/EXTERNAL INFLUENCE/OVERVOLTAGE SHALL BE PROTECTED WITH FRONT AND BACK END SURGE PROTECTION COMPLYING TO IEC STANDARDS.
DETUNE REACTOR 14. ALL CONCEALED CABLING IN WALL SHALL BE IN HIGH IMPACT PVC CONDUIT TO IEC STANDARDS UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. WALL THERMAL RESISTIVITY SHALL NOT BE GREATER THAN 2K.m/W. CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK AND HIGHLIGHT ANY DISCREPANCY OF WALL THERMAL PROPERTIES OR ANY WALL INSULATING MATERIAL BEING APPLIED TO THE ENGINEER. THE CABLING SIZE SHALL
DIFFER IF ACTUAL WALL THERMAL RESISTIVITY IS HIGHER THAN MENTIONED VALUE.
