PROLOGUE
As an HM student, the opportunity to partake in an educational tour is a journey to look
forward to, filled with extreme happiness,excitement of expectation, and preparations
needed for us students. I could say that it was an amazing experience to have. The
tour's main purpose extends beyond the exploration of landmarks; it serves as a
channel for immersive learning experiences, fostering intellectual growth and cultural
enrichment in the students. It could open your minds and hearts to appreciate the
details and knowledge you could gain during the tour.
Tours can actually serve several specific purposes. Before the actual tour happened,
my expectations were very high, filled with the extreme excitement and happiness of my
first time going on an educational Cebu tour. I could say that it was an amazing
experience to have; it gave us lessons to others and helped us to be open-minded
about our industry, and the money we spent was actually worth it, even if we somehow
experienced a little bit of a problem during our first day in Cebu because we struggled
during our washup that time since we only had a little bit of time to prepare everything
we needed for ourselves, but overall, it provided us with lessons and more knowledge,
and that experience opened our eyes and minds to how the hospitality industry really is
in actual reality. I really appreciated the beauty of the place we visited; it makes me
want to visit Cebu again soon. I'm very grateful for the experience we had, which is
something we could use for our future.

The Bayfront Hotel Capitol Site is a very interesting hotel, even though I already knew
from the start that it was just a 2-star hotel, not really that expensive and classy, unlike
the two 5-star hotels we visited during our 1st and 2nd days of our educational tour in
Cebu. A hotel’s exterior is a guest’s first impression, so it is important to make a lasting
one. Thinking of a building as a work of structural art opens up new possibilities to wow
travelers before they have had the chance to visit any tourist sites. I can say that the
Bayfront Hotel is a kind of hotel that is very accessible to tourists who have experienced
Cebu City for the first time in their lives. I’m pretty sure I was not disappointed during
our stay in this hotel. What caught my attention from this hotel is their style and design
in their exterior and interior, especially in their front desk. It has a very minimal design
and a few colors, which made me think that it looks like a not too cheap or so ordinary
hotel.The color is really simple but has a little impact for tourists who like a very simple
design. The hotel is described as so simple that you might think that you won’t enjoy
your stay, but it is indeed satisfying to stay here because I really like the simplicity of this
hotel. At first, it does not look like the hotel has a lot of floors, and I expected it to have
very few facilities for a 2-star hotel, but they actually have more to offer their guests
during their stay. Just like Deck @19, located on the hotel’s roof deck, the pool brings
together the inviting feeling of its lush greenery and cool water, and Cebu’s bustling
urban appeal. They also have Roofdeck Dining, which offers a comfortable and soothing
ambience while enjoying the variety of palatable Filipino selections. They also have
Breeze Kitchen Bar, where we had our buffet breakfast. They have so much to offer with
delectable meals prepared by Breeze Kitchen’s best chefs, which you can enjoy in an
intimate and comfortable atmosphere. And lastly, they also have a sweat gym suitable
for people who want to workout whenever they want. The hotel also has more facilities
or services they offer, like a 24-hour front desk where, when you need something, you
can call and ask for help or assistance. They are also very approachable and friendly.
They also have WiFi internet access in public areas you could always use; they have
room service, which we didn’t experience; function/meeting rooms, which have a lot of
space for a group of people to gather in the room they have; they also mention
transportation services on their site; and Lastly, they have their own parking spaces for
your car or vehicle.
BAYFRONT CAPITOL SITE HOTEL’S GUESTROOM
A 2-star hotel offers the basic necessities of a bed and bathroom in each room and may
offer some limited amenities, like a television, phone, and closet. Some examples of 2-
star hotels include Sleep Inn & Suites, Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, and Comfort Inn.
There may also be 24-hour front desk services, along with daily housekeeping and a
self-serve dining option at the hotel, such as continental breakfast. In a 2-star hotel,
these are the kinds of hotels that provide only the basic amenities that a guest must
have. Just like an attached bathroom with a minimum of 30 SF with water-based
facilities (tub and/or shower, sink, toilet). You may have a few amenities, like access to
an ice machine, an iron, and an ironing board. The rooms of Bayfront Hotel Capitol Site
have a few types that they could offer for you to choose from: a classic double or twin
room with two single beds or one large double bed; a studio executive room with two
single beds or one large double bed; and a premier family room with four single beds for
four people. The good thing about this hotel is that they have services that you didn’t
think they could offer, and they also always make sure that their rooms and other areas
inside the hotel are clean and not smelly. As one of the guests at the Bayfront Capitol
Site, I could really say that this hotel can satisfy your stay as a guest, and the money
you spend is worthwhile; it won’t go to waste. You could actually access all the facilities
inside the hotel, including the pool they have on their rooftop, eat in their Breeze Kitchen
Bar, where there is a lot of food you could choose to eat, avail of services and free wifi
in each room you're staying in, and have a flatscreen TV where you could watch your
favorite channel. If you are checking in, they will provide you with your own keycard to
access your room. If you have someone with you, they will provide you with two
keycards for the two of you to use. They are very neat and clean towards their facilities,
and all of their employees and workers always wear smiles on their faces, greeting
guests happily. In a hotel, it is very important that you know how to manage guests
properly. They managed to exceed my expectations during my stay at the hotel, and I’m
more grateful for the polite treatment they’ve given us.

Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa is a luxurious resort located on Mactan Island in
Cebu, Philippines. It's renowned for its stunning beachfront location, world-class
amenities, and impeccable service.Inspired by the legendary land and mythical earthly
paradise featured in James Hilton’s 1933 novel, Lost Horizon, which evoked a safe
haven from a disquieting and alienating world, the name Shangri-La encapsulates the
serenity and service for which the hotels and resorts are renowned worldwide. The
Shangri-La resort is a type of hotel that you could say at first glance that it was a
luxurious hotel and that not anyone could afford. The exterior of the hotel tells it all:
Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu, is the premier, award-winning deluxe resort
property in the Philippines. It has won acclaim from both domestic and international
travelers for its spacious and well-appointed 530 guestrooms and suites and the variety
of dining, entertainment, sports, and recreational activities offered in its paradise-like
setting. A 5-star hotel like this is very famous among people, and only those who had a
lot of money could afford a stay in this hotel. During the tour, I noticed that a lot of
foreigners are staying in this hotel, which I already expected because of the beautiful
paradise it brings to people that are staying in this hotel. Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort &
Spa (Cebu) boasts a unique getaway experience with excellent facilities and amenities
spanning across 8 storeys and 360 rooms. Designed for the ultimate resort vacation,
the resort and spa features a man-made beach, a tennis center, a mini-golf course,
swimming pools, gardens, top-notch restaurants and bars, as well as a spa, a health
club, an entertainment hub, and a boat dock. The engineering services for this project
were completed in 1993, with the addition of the Chi Spa, Cowrie Cove, and Chapel
completed later in 2005. The hotel and resort have an area of approximately 125,000 sq
m, and the design style is modern and tropical. The resort boasts a variety of luxurious
accommodations, including spacious guest rooms, suites, and villas, each elegantly
appointed with modern amenities and Balinese-inspired decor. I noticed that each room
may offer stunning ocean views or direct access to the beach, which any person who
loves a view of the beach could admire. The hotel also offers an array of dining options
to suit every plate of international guests that the Shang may have. Guests can indulge
in international cuisine at Tides, savor fresh seafood at Cowrie Cove, or enjoy casual
dining at Acqua or Buko Bar & Grill. The resort also features specialty restaurants
serving Japanese, Italian, and Cantonese cuisine. In every restaurant they have, they
always make sure that those Italian foods are cooked by Italian chefs, because
according to them, “Italian dishes aren’t Italian if not cooked by a professional Italian
chef. I was amazed by what they said because having international cuisine in a
luxurious hotel requires a chef who is professional enough to handle pressure while
cooking inside the kitchen. The resort features a wide range of facilities and activities to
ensure a memorable stay for guests of all ages. These include multiple swimming pools,
a fully-equipped fitness center, a spa offering rejuvenating treatments, and a range of
water sports and recreational activities. Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa is a popular
choice for families, offering dedicated children's facilities and activities such as a kids'
club, playground, and family-friendly pool areas. When it comes to events and
weddings, with its picturesque setting and elegant venues, the resort is also a sought-
after destination for weddings, meetings, and special events. It offers comprehensive
event planning services and customizable packages to suit various occasions.
Overall, Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa is synonymous with luxury, comfort, and
tropical paradise, making it an ideal retreat for travelers seeking a memorable getaway
in the Philippines. All I can say is that the hotel is really an amazing opportunity for us to
visit because the employees of Shanghai made time for us to discuss and manage to
introduce their luxurious hotel to us students in order for us to learn something new
about how amazing our industry is in real life. They are very strict and have a high
standard when it comes to their perspective, but it is for a reason to maintain the quality
service of the Shangri-La Hotel Cebu Mactan Resort and Spa.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has its origins in the Mövenpick Group, a Swiss hospitality
company founded by Ueli Prager in 1948. The company initially focused on providing
high-quality food products, particularly ice cream, and eventually expanded into the
hotel industry.This was actually the 2nd luxurious hotel I have ever visited in my life, First
is the Shangri-La which made me amaze how big that hotel is. This is also one of the
famous 5 star hotels in Cebu that any tourist would love to experience how awesome
their service is just like shangri-la. Moving on to this hotel , Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts
is an upscale hotel management company headquartered in Baar, Switzerland. It
operates hotels in various countries around the world, offering luxurious
accommodations, exceptional service, and a range of amenities to cater to both leisure
and business travelers. The Mövenpick Group's first venture into the hotel business was
in 1973 when it opened the Mövenpick Hotel Zurich-Airport near Zurich Airport in
Switzerland. This hotel quickly gained recognition for its exceptional service,
comfortable accommodations, and culinary excellence. Building on the success of its
first hotel, the Mövenpick Group continued to expand its hotel portfolio, both within
Switzerland and internationally. Over the years, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has
established a reputation for offering luxurious accommodations, gourmet dining
experiences, and warm hospitality in destinations around the world. I noticed during my
stay in the hotel of Movenpick, during our seminar I was mesmerized of how they
accomodate us with a warm welcome dance by their OJT students, they made an effort
for us before we even arrived, I was very happy by how we felt their welcoming gestures
for us students in which we really didn’t expect to happen. The movenpick is a kind of
hotel that has a European vibe ulike the shangri-la, they have an opposite faces and
design in their own, that makes them unique from each other. Mövenpick hotels typically
feature contemporary architecture and interior design, with clean lines, minimalist décor,
and a focus on sleek, modern furnishings. Despite their modern aesthetic, Mövenpick
properties aim to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for guests. This often
includes the use of warm color palettes, soft lighting, and plush furnishings to evoke a
sense of relaxation and hospitality.The Mövenpick hotels incorporate natural materials such
as wood, stone, and bamboo into their design, creating a connection to the surrounding
environment and adding warmth and texture to the space. I could definitely say that the
mövenpick hotels are known for their attention to detail, from the design of public spaces to the
layout of guest rooms. Every aspect of the guest experience is carefully considered to ensure a
seamless and enjoyable stay. While we are inside the events hall, their Ojt students, regular
employees, staff are trained to offer genuine, warm hospitality to every guest. From the moment
we guests arrive, we are greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel welcome and valued
throughout our stay. While providing warm and personalized service, Mövenpick also
emphasizes efficiency and professionalism. Staff are well-trained and knowledgeable about the
hotel's facilities and services, ensuring that guests' needs are met promptly and professionally. I
believe that the hotel itself are really open minded and easy to understand their employees, they
values guest feedback and actively seeks input to continuously improve its service and offerings.
Whether through guest surveys, online reviews, or direct feedback during the stay, Mövenpick
listens to guests' concerns and suggestions and takes action to address them.
All I can say that the employees in movenpick are really approachable and ready to
listen whenever you have a question about the things that makes you curious in the
end, Overall, Mövenpick's approach to guest service is characterized by a commitment to
excellence, genuine hospitality, and a desire to create memorable experiences that exceed guests'
expectations. They never dissapoint us with their amazing and quality service they gave us.

"Vikings Luxury Buffet"! This restaurant is actually quite well-known, particularly in the
Philippines. With branches in major cities like Manila, Cebu, and Davao, Vikings Luxury Buffet
has gained popularity for its lavish spread of international cuisines and its upscale dining
experience. We had tried their food during the tour, and it was all delicious, but there were foods
that didn’t actually suit my taste, just like the Japanese food I tried. I was disappointed by then.
But the entire interior of the restaurant was amazing, which made me excited. They actually have
an extensive food selection that makes you confused about where to start eating and how to find
the food you want. Vikings offers a vast array of dishes from around the world, including
Japanese sushi and sashimi, Korean barbecue, American comfort food, European pastries, and
Filipino favorites. The extensive selection caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences,
making it a popular choice for groups with diverse dining preferences. This was good because it
is already a given that this restaurant serves different guests and customers. When it comes to the
ambiance of this buffet restaurant, I find it very luxurious, but not that spacious compared to
others. The restaurant's upscale ambiance adds to its appeal. Many branches feature elegant
decor, classy dining areas, and upscale furnishings, creating a luxurious atmosphere for diners to
enjoy their meals. Also, what’s good about them is that Vikings Luxury Buffet is a go-to
destination for special occasions and celebrations. Whether it's birthdays, anniversaries, or family
gatherings, many people choose Vikings for its celebratory atmosphere and indulgent dining
experience. I believe that despite the buffet format, Vikings is known for maintaining high
standards of quality and freshness in its food offerings. Diners can expect freshly prepared
dishes, attentive service, and a commitment to culinary excellence. Vikings has a strong presence
on social media platforms, where it shares mouth-watering photos of its dishes and promotions.
This online visibility has helped spread awareness of the restaurant and attract diners looking for

experience. All I can say is that this luxurious buffet restaurant could satisfy all your cravings,

have a lot of displays that you could choose from. The taste of the food at Vikings Luxury Buffet
is subjective and can vary based on individual preferences and experiences.

interests. Additionally, the all-you-can-eat format allows diners to sample and enjoy a variety of
foods without limits, making it great value for money. The relaxed atmosphere and the ability to

factors. Overall, Buffet 101 provides a convenient and enjoyable dining experience for those
looking to indulge in a vast selection of dishes. The ambiance at Buffet 101 locations is often
casual and welcoming, making it suitable for various dining occasions, from casual gatherings to

In addition to its extensive food offerings, Buffet 101 often features live cooking stations where
chefs prepare dishes fresh to order, adding an interactive element to the dining experience. The
restaurant also prides itself on maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene to ensure
a pleasant and satisfying dining experience for its customers. They really have a flexible dining
experience, Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or colleagues, Buffet 101 accommodates
various group sizes and dining preferences. The buffet format allows diners to customize their
meals according to their preferences and dietary requirements, ensuring a flexible and
enjoyable dining experience for all. Compared to the previous buffet restaurant we had, I must
say that the buffet 101 had a more spacious area than the Luxurious Buffet which is the Vikings,
although they had a similar dining experience because it is also an all you can eat buffet, but
buffet 101 had a more giving ambiance of satisfaction. Not only because of their food, but also
their physical feature of their restaurant that is way more attractive and classy in a high end
level. It was actually my first time eating here so it was a difficult decision to compare the
amazing buffet restaurant we had because when it comes to food, they both had the taste I am
looking for and a mouth watering feeling is always present in every bite you had. Buffet-style
dining often leads to a significant amount of food waste, as diners may over-serve themselves or
leave uneaten portions on their plates. Buffet 101 should implement strategies to minimize food
waste, such as portion control measures or partnerships with food redistribution organizations.
While the buffet 101 continue to reach high levels of rates, there are still something’s that they
could probably focus on just like While the extensive selection may appeal to many customers,
others may find the sheer variety overwhelming or feel that the quality of dishes does not
match their expectations. Buffet 101 should focus on continually improving the customer
experience by soliciting feedback, monitoring customer satisfaction, and making adjustments to
its offerings and service accordingly. Making sure Customer service is of paramount importance
in any business, including buffet restaurants like Buffet 101. Providing excellent customer
service ensures that diners have a positive experience, which leads to higher levels of
satisfaction. Satisfied customers are more likely to return and recommend the restaurant to
others, contributing to repeat business and word-of-mouth marketing. But in the end of this, all
of the buffet restaurants we tried was amazing in their own way of serving food, I could say that
I have good reviews for this buffet.
Overall, while Buffet 101 offers a convenient and inclusive dining experience, addressing these
critical aspects can help enhance its reputation and ensure long-term success in a competitive
market.
