ACTIVITY #1

One of the most pressing issues of today is the continuous increase in the prices of commodities
around us. This phenomenon is called inflation which affects the economy and the overall status of
country. To be able to understand better this concept, this activity might help you. Imagine that in the
beginning of the week you were given a 1000-peso bill that you should use to buy your food (breakfast,
lunch, dinner, snacks) for 5 days (Monday to Friday).

Create a meal plan (including both food and beverages) for the five school days using the budget
of 1,000 Pesos. Indicate the meal and the price of each item (e.g. Adobo – 50, Rice- 10, Coke- 20). If home-
cooked meal, identify the estimated price per meal for yourself.
