Preface:
This report was created in order to satisfy and fulfill the requirement of BBIT program at The
University of Punjab's Lahore Campus.

The main objective of this internship program was to train the student with the application of the
knowledge I gained in the campus. The knowledge which we gain by actually implementation the
techniques we have learnt in theory is a lot different than knowledge in the books that a student
attains in an educational institute. An internship program of 6 to 8 week is essential for a student
to practically implement the knowledge she has learnt in the books; it is also good initial step for
going my very first job.

In an educational institute a student learns lots of company related to account, finance, economics,
and management, but once I jump into practical field, it broadens the perspective and then is the
time when we know that what is the application of the techniques we have learnt theoretically. The
internship I have done has provided me with lots of experience and I can definitely apply and go
for a job with confidence as I know how to manage things in practical life like teamwork, dealing
with people, leadership etc. and many more things. It has given me with a viewpoint of the jobs
that I will go for further to perform in.

Dedication:
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my All-Powerful Allah for giving me the
strength to complete this task. I must dedicate this work to my favorite mentors, teachers, and
coordinators, who guide me and taught different subjects and then to my parents, who support me
and allow me to avail this opportunity of internship at Emirates Logistics (LLC), for his adoration,
support, and devotion, for consistently believing in my goals, and for empowering me throughout
this voyage to make this happen in the same way. I ask Allah, the highest, to guide me in the
correct direction.

Acknowledgement:

To begin, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to Allah for providing me with the strength and
calmness necessary to complete my BBIT courses and complete this report on time. First and
foremost, I Had like to convey my gratitude to my departmental supervisor/HOD. His continual
supervision and recommendations were vital in the successful completion of the report.

From the beginning of this research project to the end of my internship, he was always willing to
offer me advice that was vital in making this report as flawless as possible. He also allowed me to
freely intrude on his valuable time. Without his regular assistance and insightful guidance, I am
confident that I would not be able to complete the assignment in a timely and satisfactory manner.

I had a great internship opportunity in Emirates Logistics LLC (ELGS). It is an excellent chance
for professional development, learning and to meet so many wonderful people and professionals.
As I was provided with an opportunity to be a part of it. I consider myself as a very lucky
individual.

Personally, I consider this kind of opportunity as a great achievement in the development of my

career. By striving the earned skills and knowledge in effective and efficient way I will put efforts
to complete the allocated task and continuing the work improvements. I hope that my skills and
knowledge inspire the managers at Millat Industrial Products Limited to continue cooperation in
the future.

In 5th week of my internship, we worked on two major aspects the first one is with marketing
strategies used by different logistics companies in marketing wing. Logistics Companies Using
Branding Strategy:

• Co-Branding
• Clients branding
• Industry Conferences
• Participation in industrial Expo

The second one is with Human Resource in which we worked on master data collection of whole
organization. Basically, their aim is to verify the data which they had collected in the past when a

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 37

person is hired on a job with the data which we have to collect physically. So, we make a google
form which is very easy to use and take less time, as well as manage and enter the whole leaves
data in system (Nabrass Software).

At the end, in last (6th) week is based on documentation which include personal documentations,
preparation of internship report, prepare a presentation on Emirates logistics which consist of basic
data about firm, learning during the period of internship, finding out loopholes in Emirates logistics
and future recommendations for further improvement.

Management Style:
In Emirates Logistics managers used Democratic Management Style. In a democratic style, the
majority is the deciding factor. Because they value the variety of viewpoints on their team and
recognize that people are the key to a team's success, managers encourage employee participation
in decision-making. Democratic managers ultimately agree with all decisions, but because they
encourage employee participation, their team greatly influences their manager's choice.

Because managers are aware that involving their team in decision-making increases morale, fosters
a positive work environment, and creates a mutually beneficial working relationship, employees
are heavily involved in decision-making. Because they are carrying out a plan that they developed
together, it is also simpler for managers to persuade their staff to support a team's vision.

Conflict Management:
When there is discord among employees as a result of divergent interests, personalities, opinions,
or ideologies, workplace conflict results. Conflict in the workplace is inevitable and is only to be
expected when people from various backgrounds and viewpoints work together. A variety of
behaviors, such as a lack of cooperation, verbal abuse, bullying, rage, subpar or delayed work,
project failure, and others, can be used to convey conflict.

Consider the procedures that keep your business afloat. Within interconnected workstreams,
numerous cross-functional processes frequently occur. For instance, we take the example of
Emirates Logistics if a vehicle arrived at and then into parking. After that Business Plaining Officer
plans to offload the vehicle and place in the bay area then in aiels then it will be done otherwise it

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 38

will be stop by there and no one has the authority to complete the process or initiate anything by
himself.

About Experience

Chapter 3
Learnings about the Operation of Organizations:
Basically, I did not get internship in specific department such marketing, Supply chain or HR at
Emirates Logistics LLC (ELGS). Therefore, I worked with the Operations manager the first week of
my internship program, then with the full support of the operations wing the following week, then
with the supply chain wing, then with the store and data entry wing for the next two weeks, and
with the Administration and HR wing for the final one week. Supervision Manager helped me by
advising to go through the whole service process of batteries at Emirates. He also guides me time
to time to do practical work instead of theoretical work which would be very helpful in my
professional career. He also teaches me how to grow up my interpersonal skills at workplace such
as he advised me that Socialization is the process of putting social skills to use. He also gives
lessons to me regularly on Teamwork, Work ethics, Time management and Responsibility etc. that
had made my internship weeks very interesting and fruitful. I have learned the whole process of
3PL which starts from raw material to finished goods stacking.

Responsibilities Given to You by Your Employer:

• Understanding the whole process of Emirates Logistics
• ELGS Branding Strategies
• Competitors Marketing Strategies
• Medical Survey
• Master Data Collection
• Administrative Tasks
• Flow chart creation of Inbound and Outbound Process
• Adjustment of leaves in System (Nabrass)
• Presentations
• Visits to different sites for acquisition

Specific Skills Learned:

An internship is a unique learning opportunity. Given what it has to offer back, the importance it
has gained over the years in growing one's career cannot be overstated. It's neither spoon-fed
classroom learning nor a stressful workload. In the meantime, you'll master not only the

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 41

fundamentals of working life, but also the soft skills necessary for a successful professional career.
Workplace is place where soft skills come into play. I have learned the following skills during my
internship at Emirates Logistics (ELGS) which includes Teamwork, Work ethics, Time
management and Responsibility.

Understanding of the various aspects of professional work:

Basically, an internship is a professional opportunity for a student to learn and grab practical
learning experience, an experience which gives you a meaningful practical exposure to the studied
or studying filed. An internship is an outstanding opportunity for career exploration, development,
enhancement, nourishment, and to learn new skills. There are some things which we understand
practically after or in between the student life are given as:

• Work Environment
• New Skills
• Potential Income (If internship is paid)
• Jumpstart to your career
• Resume Building

Achievements/reality of the Internship:

I have found out some loopholes in Marketing Techniques, Human Resource Management, and
Operations which I will further explain in recommendations and gaps etc. So, it is my first
achievement of earning which makes me feel confident and happy. It gives me courage to boost
my self-motivation to pursue my career passionately. At the end of internship we (internees) are
invited by the current CEO of Emirates Logistics and awarded by the internship certificates and
well wishes for the bright future.

Challenges during the internship:

There are few challenges which are faced by myself and my team during the tenure of 6 weeks
internship. Firstly, while gathering the marketing strategies of Emirates Logistics competitor we
face difficulty to find out because they did not commercialize themselves. Then while gathering
master data we face difficulties because we have to collect data of each and every person working
in Emirates logistics like Store officer, picker, dispatcher, BPO, Sweepers, office boys, Executives,

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 42

Managerial staff members etc. Some of them bring their all-required documents but few of them
are unable to bring certificates and other relevant documents because they are from out of city.
Then we make plan to text them virtually to get pictures of documents so, we can gather and
forward the data to HR head.

Correlation between Internship Experience and Classroom Knowledge:

Classroom learning refers to an in-class technique of conveying information where the presenter
used lectures, dialogues, and multimedia tools to teach a class about health issues and
organizations that help the poor. A classroom with tables and chairs next to a chalkboard or dry
writing board. Perhaps you picture a large lecture hall with the lecturer in the front, using
PowerPoint presentations on a screen to help students better understand the day's lesson; these are
examples of typical classroom learning environments.

While an internship is a type of experiential education that combines classroom knowledge and
theory with hands-on experience and skill development in a professional setting. Internships allow
students to get significant practical experience and build contacts in professional disciplines they
are interested in pursuing as a career path, while also allowing companies to mentor and evaluate
their employees. In other words, it is a strategy in which students were engaged in the community,
gaining firsthand knowledge of health issues and agencies that serve the disadvantaged.

Learning occurs as a result of the student's active participation. He learns by doing, not by listening
to the teacher. The experiences supplied, not the things to which the learner is merely exposed, are
the most important components of an education.

Students in a traditional classroom have the chance to connect with their teachers and classmates
one on one. This serves as both a social and educational advantage. Because kids encounter the
very same classmates every class, they have the opportunity to establish friendships. Students have
the opportunity to directly engage in a lecturing or class discussion. While, hands-on learning or
practical working is preferred by some people than listening to instructions or watching videos. It
is also easier to learn through experience. Experiential learning like internship or house makes
easier for students to understand the tough and bigger picture concepts and case studies.

Internship Influence Future Career Plans:

An internship is a tried-and-true method of improving your résumé. Employers-to-be will pay

close attention to your internship-related abilities and experience, as well as the references you
provide from industry experts. Work samples that you acquired from an internship will be helpful
when applying for jobs. To apply the ideas and concepts you have acquired in the classroom, you
need professional experience. examination of a particular profession or field to see if it fits your
aspirations. You could have a mental image of the job route you want to take in the future.

Summary & Recommendations

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 44

Chapter 4

Overall Summary:

This internship report is based on my successful completion of a 6-week internship program at

Emirates Logistics LLC in the Supply Chain Division and Marketing from August 15, 2022, to
September 23, 2022, as a precondition of my BBA program at the University of the Punjab,
Department of Business, and Information Technology.

As someone who is absolutely new to the corporate sector, every hour spent at Emirates Logistics
LLC provided me with valuable experience that cannot be expressed in words. Nonetheless, they
were all beneficial to my career.

This paper explains how Emirates Logistics LLC All Departments work, what sections and job
assignments are feasible, the production procedure, training, and development objectives, and how
Emirates Logistics LLC provides warehousing as well as fleet services to its valuable customers
like Unilever, Up-field, and GSK etc.

I worked in Emirates Logistics LLC Marketing, Human Resource, and Supply Chain Division with
most of the other departments' wings, including staff member data collection, building flow chart
of major operations activities (Inbound & outbound), Acquiring knowledge & Organization
Advancement (Training), Compensation, HR Administration tasks, Marketing strategies, HR
policies, material handling processes, and so on.

Emirates Logistics LLC has a well-developed marketing, human resource, and supply chain
divisions. It efficiently manages organizational duties. Emirates Logistics HR, Marketing, and
Workers teams are all well-organized and well-known.

Most notably, I was exposed to a practical and professional world environment, and during this
period, I gained a variety of skills with the help of Emirates Logistics management. I was unable
to condense all of my internship experiences into a paragraph. Furthermore, I got a wonderful
opportunity to interact with ELGS employees, which allowed me to improve my communication,
timeliness, and commitment.

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 45

I worked with the Senior staff members of Marketing team in the first week of my internship
program like I worked with sir Anwar and Sir Ali these are the major persons of marketing team.
They handle each and everything of marketing, new facilities, promotional campaigns etc. as well
as in operation department worked BPO, Operations Manager, Executive W/H for the
understanding of whole operations of Emirates Logistics, then with the full support of the
Managerial wing (HR head) the following week we conduct a survey which leads to signing of
MOU for the welfare of managerial staff, then with the supply chain wing (Supervisor, Floor
incharge, S/O) for the collection of personal information, then finding out the brokers in each city
of Pakistan for the next two weeks, who sell or rent the factories and warehouses, and with the
help of Operations Manager creation of warehouse signs and symbols for the final one week.

My own ideas on marketing loopholes & supply chain, as well as my contribution to the Marketing
and supply chain are also mentioned in this report. With my minimal expertise and knowledge, I
did my hardest to make this research as transparent as possible and to transfer real-world
experience into a paper. In a business context, the many barriers to process improvement and
upholding ethical standards have also been encountered. However, the extent to which those rules
and procedures are aligned with the company strategy is debated.

Before jumping to any conclusions based on this report, keep in mind that it was written in a hurry
and there is a shortage of information. However, the report may be beneficial in the design of any
future research to examine the Emirates Logistics different facilities.

Specific Recommendation:

As a result of the excellent working environment offered by Emirates Supply Chain Services (Pvt)
Ltd, I would like to finish by saying that I feel really fortunate to be a member of the company. I
took a temporary job because I wanted to understand more about the activities market and wasn't
motivated by the need for a degree, and it has been a learning and information-filled experience.
They provided me with a highly respectable opportunity to work with them and get knowledge of
their business and branding strategy. Overall, it was a very positive experience since I learned how
things are used in practice. Every established nation has a solid logistic system however Pakistan
is a developing nation and has to strengthen its logistic system to advance its growth. To meet their
objectives, Emirates Supply Chain Services (Pvt) Ltd should employ recently created WMS

University of Punjab (Institute of Business and Information Technology) 46

(Warehouse Management Systems) software. Unique databases that have been specially created
for data security, dependability, and accessibility as well as to lessen the administrative strain of
organization to stay up with the global and Pakistani logistic industries. For greater performance
and a better working environment, Emirates Supply Chain Services (Pvt) Ltd should train its staff
and increase the involvement of trained personnel. Development of the operational area is
necessary, especially in the showcasing division where new enrollments are required due to
responsibility expansion. More incentives and rewards should be offered to the staff for their
outstanding performances and clinical offices for special circumstances. Every organization has to
grow to succeed, and as this aphorism from Emirates Logistics suggests, there is more to learn
about this topic.

• Advance System to minimize cunsumption of paper.

• Social Media Platform Enhancement (Website).
• Social Media Campaigns.
• Boost Extra Co-curricular Activities.

Suggestion to improve its curricula and methods of teaching to BBIT

students:

Classroom learning is a kind of teaching that takes place in a classroom setting. The presenter uses
lectures, discussions, and multimedia technologies to enlighten the audience about health concerns
and charitable organizations that assist the underprivileged. a space filled with desks and chairs
and a board for dry writing or chalkboards. These are samples of common classroom learning
environments. Perhaps you see a sizable lecture hall with the lecturer in the front and PowerPoint
introductions on a screen to help students better understand the day's topic.

While a temporary employment is a type of experience learning that combines knowledge and
theories from the classroom with involved understanding and skill-building in a professional
context.
