Pre-Assessment and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Now, we'll conduct the pre-assessment, which helps us gauge your
current knowledge and skills. This will also allow us to recognize any
prior learning you may have in this field (RPL).
Are you all ready?
Distributing and Completing Forms
1. I have prepared two forms: Data Gathering Tool for Trainee's
Characteristics and TNA Form 1.1 (Self-Assessment Check). Please take
a moment to fill them out honestly.
2. These forms will help us understand your background and identify any
existing competencies you might possess.
Explanation and Completion Instructions
I'll now explain the purpose of each form and provide instructions on
how to complete them.
Form Completion and Collection
Please take your time and complete the forms carefully.
Once you're finished, kindly submit them to me.
Pre-Test
Now, we'll move on to the pre-test. This test will assess your current
knowledge base related to electrical installations and maintenance.
I'll distribute the test paper and answer sheets. Please listen carefully as
I explain the purpose, format, instructions, time allotment, and scoring
system.
Test Collection and Analysis
When the allotted time is up, please stop writing and submit your test
papers and answer sheets.
I will analyze the results to determine areas where you might need
additional support and identify potential candidates for RPL.
Closing Remarks
Thank you all for your cooperation today. Based on the results of your
pre-assessment, I will take necessary actions regarding RPL.
I look forward to working with you all throughout this training program.
Do you have any questions before we end today's session?
DAY 2

Assigning Trainees
Since we have trainees with varying levels of prior experience, I'll be assigning
you to different work areas:
Trainee with No Prior Experience: You will proceed to the Learning
Resource Area (LRA). There, you'll start by reading Information Sheets
3.2-1 to 3.3-3 and answering Self-Checks 3.3-1 to 3.3-3. These resources
will provide you with the foundational knowledge for today's topic.
(Wait for confirmation and answer any questions)
Trainee with Claimed Competencies: You have stated that you have
current competencies in some learning outcomes of Unit of Competency
(UC) 3 – Install wiring devices of floor and wall mounted outlets, lighting
fixtures/switches and auxiliary outlets. Therefore, you will proceed to the
Institutional Assessment Area (IAA) to present proofs/evidences
supporting your claim.
(Prepare a table and chairs in the IAA)
Please present any certificates, work experience documents, or similar
evidence that demonstrates your existing knowledge and skills.
(Collect evidence and review)
While your evidence seems valid and authentic, to fully verify your
competency, you'll undergo some additional assessments: a written test,
a demonstration, and oral questioning. Are you ready to proceed?
