OBSERVE
1. Locate where you can find the following curriculum in the school setting. Secure a copy, make
observations of the process and record your information in the matrix below. Describe your
observations.
Type of Curriculum Where Found Description
1. Recommended Curriculum (K School It identifies the skills, concepts,
to 12 Guidelines) the content that will be
emphasized throughout the
learning process. A suggested
curriculum, complete with a list
of objectives and a material
sequence that proposed
graduation criteria, is frequently
presented to school as a policy
suggestion.
2. Written Curriculum School Written by curriculum experts
(Teacher’s Lesson Plan with the help of subject
teachers. This kind of written
curriculum needs to be pilot
tested or tried out in sample
schools to determine its
effectiveness
3. Taught Curriculum (Teaching Inside the classroom Taught curriculum is anything
Learning Process that is being taught or done in
the classroom. The taught
curriculum is exhibited when
professors give a lecture,
commence group work, or urge
pupils to conduct a laboratory
experiment under their
supervision.
4. Supported Curriculum Community/ Organization Should enable each learners to
(Subject textbook) attain a more meaningful and a
lifelong learning
5. Assessed Curriculum School Series of evaluation are being
(Assessment Process) done by extent of teaching or if
the student are progressing.
6. Learned Curriculum What students learned Learning outcomes can be used
(Achieved Learning Outcomes) to determine how competent
students should be at the end of
a class. A learning result can be
defined by what students can
do or do in their cognitive,
emotional, or psychomotor
domains.
7. Hidden Curriculum (Media) School and teacher’s visit. This are the lessons "which are
learned but not openly
intended" to be taught in school
such as the norms, values, and
beliefs conveyed in both the
classroom and social
environment.
ANALYZE
Which of the seven types curriculum in the school setting is easy to find? Why?
Among the seven curriculum in the school setting, the taught curriculum, assessed
curriculum and learned curriculum are easy to find because it always happened in
everyday discussion.
Which is difficult to observe? Why?
Hidden curriculum is the difficult to observe because this is the unintended curriculum,
it defines what students learn from physical environment, the policies, and the
procedures of the school. This applied to any learning outcomes that are not expressly
designed in a lesson plan.
Are these all found in the school setting? How do curricula relate to one another?
The relationship between curricula to one another is highly connected and they both
serve to enhance each other. For instance, curriculum is the foundation of education
and the curriculum is what makes the education quality stand out, from basic level to
increasingly complex topics or skills.
Draw a diagram to show the relationship of one curriculum to the other.
REFLECT

REFLECT
Based on your observation and tasks in Activity 2 how will you prepare your lesson plan? Make a short
paragraph on the topic.
No matter how a lesson plan is structured, each lesson should build on the one before it
and seamlessly transition into the next. There are other rules to follow in addition to the
core curriculum components. The type or level of the students, their past knowledge,
which will allow us to continue with the flow, and the teaching methods you can use in
your lesson plan are just a few of the crucial factors that go into the building of each one.
After that, the lesson should be organized, the learning objectives should be determined,
and the students’ progress should be evaluated.
