I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. Identify telling and asking sentences.
2. Differentiate proper punctuation mark in telling and asking sentences;
and
3. Apply proper punctuation mark in telling and asking sentences.

The learner demonstrates understanding of grammatical structure of English to
be able to communicate effectively in oral and written.

B. Performance Standards:
The learner shows proficiency in constructing grammatically correct sentence in
varied theme based oral and written activities.

Now before we start, I want you to look at


this picture and describe what you see.

Now what did you observe in the picture.

We can see in the picture that the girl and


the boy are talking in the park but what
are they talking about lets listen to them.

A telling sentences begins with a capital


letter and ends with a period. (students attentively listen)
Example: My name is Carlo.
It begins with capital letter m and ends
with a punctuation mark called period.
I am seven years old.
It begins with capital letter I ends with a
period.

Here are the examples of telling


sentences.

Mother bakes a cake.

The children are playing in the park.

The cat is on the mat.

He is a doctor.
