Technical Writing) and Mastering the Process of Permit Proceedings

IX. Rationale:
In today's fast-paced and increasingly regulated business environment, the ability
to write technical documents and navigate complex permit processes is essential for
success. This seminar workshop is designed to provide participants with the skills and
knowledge needed to excel in these areas. Through a combination of interactive
sessions, case studies, and practical exercises, attendees will learn how to craft clear,
concise, and accurate technical documents that meet regulatory requirements, as well
as how to navigate the often-confusing maze of permit processes. By the end of the
workshop, participants will have a deeper understanding of the technical writing and
permit process landscapes, and will be equipped with the tools and techniques needed
to excel in these critical areas.
X. Objectives: At the end of the activity the participants will be able to:
1. Develop technical writing skills: Participants will learn how to write clear, concise,
and accurate technical documents that meet regulatory requirements. They will learn
how to use plain language, avoid technical jargon, and structure documents for
maximum clarity and effectiveness.
2. Understand permit processes: Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the
permit process landscape, including the various types of permits, the steps involved in
obtaining permits, and the common pitfalls to avoid. They will learn how to navigate
the permit process maze with confidence and efficiency.
3. Improve communication skills: Participants will learn how to communicate
technical information effectively to a variety of audiences, including regulators,
stakeholders, and internal teams. They will learn how to use visual aids, diagrams,
and other tools to enhance communication and clarify complex concepts.
XI. Implementation:
1. Prepare all the necessities for the activity (communication letters, certificates,
attendance, program, sound systems, resource speaker/s).
2. Gather the participants at the AAC Hall, ensure that they had their attendance
before entering the room and make sure that they are comfortable in their seats.
3. Develop technical writing skills: Understand the principles of plain language and
how to apply them to technical documents, learn how to structure documents for
maximum clarity and effectiveness, practice writing technical documents using a
checklist of key elements and receive feedback on their technical writing skills
and learn how to improve.

4. Understand permit processes: Learn about the different types of permits and the
steps involved in obtaining them, understand the common pitfalls to avoid during
the permit process, practice navigating a simulated permit process using a case
study, and receive feedback on their permit process skills and learn how to
improve.
5. Improve communication skills: Learn how to communicate technical information
effectively to a variety of audiences, practice using visual aids, diagrams, and
other tools to enhance communication and clarify complex concepts, and receive
feedback on their communication skills and learn how to improve.
6. Conclude the activity by thanking the students for their participation and
encouraging them to continue practicing and mastering Technical Writing and
Navigating Permit Processes.

XIV. Monitoring and Evaluation:
An accomplishment report together with photo documentations will be submitted after
the activity. The success of this project will be monitored through customer satisfaction ratings,
and feedback from the participants. Any necessary improvements or adjustments will be made
based on these evaluations to ensure that the project continues to meet its objectives and benefits
the students of BSU- Bokod Campus.
