LESSON PLAN FOR CATCH UP FRIDAY


HOMEROOM GUIDANCE
January 19, 2024

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the steps and factors to consider in the process of choosing a career;
b. analyze personal abilities, experiences, and opinions of parents/guardians in career pathing; and
c. explain insights on career pathing based on the given activities.
II. CONTENT: HG MODULE 7: Looking Deeper at My Career Pathing
III. LEARNING MATERIALS/RESOURCES:
Video Presentation, PPT Presentation
IV. PROCEDURE:
A. REVIEW:
B. MOTIVATION:
 The teacher will flash on the screen the different famous people in the business industry.
 Students will share their knowledge about their works and how they become successful.
C. LESSON/ACTIVITY PROPER:
 Discuss with students the concept of career planning.
 Discuss the guide in decision-making using the Career Decision-Making Model adapted from
Rutgers University
D. ACTIVITY:
 Family’s Fashion Show
o The students will write the names of their family members according to the line of
work/job interest including their name, too.
o Using the images from old newspapers/ magazines, they will cut and paste attires,
tools, equipment, simple machines for the chosen job/work of each person as if they
are going to be a model in a fashion show.
o If they do not have old newspapers/magazines, they can draw and color images.
o Also indicate their reasons for choosing that certain job/work.
E. DISCUSSION:
 After doing the activity, the students will answer the following questions:
1. Is the work/job of each name or member of the family varied or interrelated?
2. Do they have the same reasons for choosing their careers? What are those?
3. Is your dream job similar to any of your family member(s)? Why do you think so?
F. REFLECTION:
 On a clean sheet of paper, draw yourself as you face the different challenges in career
pathing then explain it in 3-5 sentences.
V. EVALUATION:
 The teacher will let the students watch the video “Using a Self-Evaluation to Choose a
Career”.
 After this, the students will list down their interests, personalities, values, and skills.
 The students will then list down the possible careers related to the things listed above.
VI. ASSIGNMENT:
 On a clean sheet of paper, write in 3-5 paragraphs on how you see yourself chasing your
dream in life.
