The zero conditional is used to talk about real and possible situations in the present, using "if" and simple present tense. The first conditional is used to talk about possible conditions and probable future results, using "if" and simple present tense for the condition and simple future tense for the result. The second conditional talks about unlikely future situations or non-true present facts, using "if" plus past simple tense for the condition and "would" plus an infinitive for the result. Examples are provided to illustrate the formation and usage of each conditional tense. Practice exercises follow to reinforce understanding of when to use each conditional.

I would spend it on education and new
technologies. People would live in a better
world if every child went to university and
learned about other cultures and
traditions. Finally, I would also finance new
scientific projects like a journey to Mars!

Bob, 41
I would do a lot of great things if I ruled
the world! I would prohibit men to cut
down trees. If we don’t respect the
environment, we will have a lot of
problems in the future! I would also give
1000€ per month to every family in the
world because poverty is the enemy
number one of humanity. Finally, I would
start economic projects to help the
African continent.
