SCHOOL: Baucko Central School LEARNING AREA: Mathematics
TEACHER: Lyra L. Comila DATE: May 24, 2022
I.OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, learners will be able to;
a. solve 3-4 steps of worded problem involving addition and subtraction (TP-EFP-apd-NG-3)
b. enumerate the steps of solving worded problem (TP-EFP-w-NG-1)
c. appreciate the importance of mastering how to answer worded problem in their daily life.

b. Materials Flash Cards, Blocks, Answer Sheet
III. PROCEDURE
A. Review The teacher and the student will review the previous lesson regarding addition, subtraction and
multiplication trough a game called building a tower.
a. Questions will be posted in the blackboard and let the two students answer it. For every answer that
they will solve they need to remove the blocks base on their answer until they were able to reach the
assigned height of the tower. The one who will get more correct answer will get the score and it will be
added to their last score that they have last month. And if they were able to do the task both of them will
have the score.

B. Introduction Instruction:
The teacher will explain the importance of the game and review the parts of addition and subtraction.
Parts of addition
Addend Addend Sum
4 + 4 = 8
Plus Equals
Parts of Subtraction
Minuend Subtrahend Difference
4 - 2 = 2
Minus Equals
C. Modeling Discusion of the lesson
A word problem is a few sentence describing a “real-life” sceneario where a problem needs to be solved
by way of a mathematical calculation.
Addition word problem arise in any situations where there is a gain or increase of something as a result of
combining one or more numbers. Think of addtition as combining parts to form a whole. Signal words for
addition include add, sum, both, total, join, in all, all togther and combined.
When talking about subtraction you will most likely see the term “ subtract”, “less than”, “minus”,
“difference”, and “decreasing by”. We know that the term “ less than” often refers to subtration, so the
operator”-“ is required.
STEPS IN ANSWERING WORDED PROBLEM
C- circle important numbers and labels
U- underline the questions
B- Box the operation clues
E- examine the question
S- solve it step by step
D. Group Practice # 1 Instructions: Answering the worded problem in the black board. (With teacher’s guidance)
1. John and Johnson makes ID card. He wants to make 1874 while Johnson want to make 875 ID cards.
Then, after a minute their friend Carol share to them that she wants to make 6745 ID card for her
business. How many ID cards that they need to make all together?
a. What are the given numbers?
b. What operation to use?
c. Show you complete solution
E.Group Practice # 2 Instruction: Answer the given problem at the blackboard. (Without the teacher’s guidance)
1. Robin has 1886 marbles in his collection; he gave 567 marbles to his sister. How many marbles left
with him then?
a. What are the given numbers?
b. What operation to use?
c. Show you complete solution
F. INDEPENDENT Instruction: Answer the following problem individually. Follow the steps in solving worded problem.

another wooden table bigger than the first and it cost him 6524 pesos to build it. If Kerry will combine all
his money expenses, how much did he spent?
a. What are the given numbers?
