Something grazed his foot and he heard a small sound.

“Hello?” grunted Grant as gazed at the grass.

On the ground was a gecko! It was moving very fast.

“Golly!” said the gecko, “I got stuck at your gate,

“My name is Gilly the Gecko you see,

I traveled very far to bring you some glee.

I heard you were grumpy and needed a hand
I’m here to help and make your day grand!”

“But how can you help?” Grant grumbled to Gilly.

“I’ve been grumpy so long. Wouldn’t helping be silly?”

“It’s never too late to help out a buddy!
I’m hungry--let’s go and put food in our tummies!”

Gilly gave him some Goldfish, her favorite food.

Grant gobbled them down, and up up up went his mood!

They played goofy games and galloped like goats.
They played golden guitars and sang goofy notes!

Gilly honked like a goose and said “BOO!” like a ghost.

Grant walked like a gorilla--he liked this game the most.
