4000 Series Long Block- Gas Engine BOM Update


Introduction

To ensure consistency across Perkins diesel and gas engine platforms, we have updated the
specification and removed spark plugs from our 4000 Series gas long block bill of material.

The following part numbers are impacted by this change:

With just one part number, it is easy to identify and order the long block you need.
Follow the process below to ensure that you order the correct long block for your engine serial number:

Step 1: Make note of the engine range the long engine is required for
Step 2: Use SPI2 to identify the piston fitted on the engine.
Step 3: Use Table 1 to identify the long engine number for your engine.

For example: If you had a 4006 TESI HC engine with a SE901AF Piston, you would order long engine
DBBF8141.

Important! Keep a record of the replacement long block used and the original serial number/build list
number to ensure that the Parts Helpdesk can easily identify parts when ordering in the future.
