ACTIVITY TITLE: Case Analysis
CASE STORY TITLE: The Children of Sitio Mabolon
Conflict Identification
The lack of access to government welfare services has resulted in malnutrition among both
children and adults. These services are critical for those living below the poverty line, and their
absence can lead to severe deficiencies, causing numerous deaths and even more serious crimes.
It is crucial to take action to address malnutrition among children in Sitio Mabolon to prevent
potential rebellions or crimes. When people are desperate for food, they may resort to extreme
measures, such as joining rebel groups like the NPA, due to government neglect.
Plan of Action
To address the issue of limited access to government welfare services leading to malnutrition in
Sitio Mabolon, a comprehensive plan of action is needed. First, there should be an assessment of
the current status of government welfare services in the area. This should be followed by a
review of the government's policies and programs to address malnutrition. A communication
campaign should also be conducted to educate the residents on the importance of proper
nutrition and the available government welfare services. Additionally, there should be a
collaboration with non-government organizations to provide supplementary feeding programs to
children and adults who are at risk of malnutrition. Finally, there should be a continuous
monitoring and evaluation of the implemented interventions to ensure their effectiveness in
addressing malnutrition in the community.
Reflection
The issue of limited access to government welfare services leading to malnutrition is a significant
concern that requires immediate attention. It is saddening to know that many children and adults
are suffering from malnutrition simply because they cannot access the necessary government
welfare services. The consequences of malnutrition are severe, and it can lead to illness, death,
and even crime. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that everyone has access to
basic necessities like food, shelter, and healthcare. As a society, we need to raise awareness
about this issue and urge the government to take action to address it. We can also contribute to
the cause by volunteering and supporting organizations that provide food assistance and other
forms of aid to those in need.
