NARRATIVE REPORT ON SPECIAL PROGRAM IN
SPORTS – SY 2021-2022 According to George A. Sheehan “Sports is an essential element of education” therefore it is the main goal of our school to strengthen our special program in sports for half a decade. As the program keeps going on the school prepares various strategy to maintain its vision for our future student athlete. Last 2021, it was a crucial part for the program because of the pandemic , but with the grace of the Lord we surpass and motivate ourselves in implementing the program without any second thought. For almost two years of experiencing the new normal setting of the program, we conducted enrollment through phone call and interviewed all those upcoming grade seven students. We ask if they had an experience to any sports. Those who are willing must be fit and do not have illness. We discuss the rules and regulation of the program to the parents. One big problem of the program is how do we conduct special training for each sports since it is pandemic. Those teachers who are in the program create some learning activity sheet and modules that can easily be understand by the learners. We based our lesson and training on the curriculum guide given by the Department of Education. The students find resources at their home for example when they are exercising. Some of our SPS students are still joining in a virtual competition. Now we really need funds for the equipment if in case there will be a face to face class. We do hope that the stakeholders and LGU will support our program to the betterment of the student athlete. We are still holding for the next year that we can have a full training of each students enrolled in the program.
