Brand Overview
Lacoste S.A. is a French company, founded in 1933 by tennis player René Lacoste, and
entrepreneur André Gillier. It sells clothing, footwear, sportswear, eyewear, leather goods,
perfume, towels and watches. The company can be recognised by its green alligator logo.

Objectives
The main objective of Lacoste is to inspire the brand
mission, which is first and foremost focused on
liberating movement, acting without constraints and
daring to move past given codes to unite us even
more. Also to make a unique casual luxury brand
embodying elegance such as Frenchness. This
requires a high level of quality and professionalism
within areas such creation, style, manufacturing and
retail.

Marketing Strategy
Marketing Strategy of Lacoste analyzes the brand
with the marketing mix framework which covers the
4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion). Also they
focused on a marketing mix that has worked very
well. Likewise, its business strategies based on price
focus, product innovation, and other factors are what help the brand achieve the success it enjoys
today.

Role of Distribution in their Marketing Mix

The main role of distribution in the Lacoste marketing mix is that it helps the brand/company to
deliver their product with the help of intermediaries, the right price that they will offer with a
promotion that they can also offer to the customers in the right places. Also it helps to position
itself competitively in the market and achieve its business goals & objectives and how effectively

a Lacoste firm gets its product to consumers and to end users. Lacoste firms can also sell their
products directly to the consumer or through intermediaries.

Selected Channel that Lacoste used

Lacoste has its own retail outlets in big malls where there is a great footfall of people. They also
make sure that the malls are visited by people who can afford the premium products. The outlets
convey elegance through simplicity which adds to the value of the brand offering. Lacoste sells
through popular stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom and Halls. The clothing and other products can be
purchased through the website through card payment. Also, there is an option to return the
product in 15 days after buying it if the customers want to do so. The orders are delivered in 3-7
days depending upon the address of delivery. Also, Lacoste brand also sells on ecommerce sites
like Amazon, Alibaba and Flipkart where there can be discounts obtained by the customers.

Lacoste Company was composed of manufacturers, different channels (e-commerce and online
market place), and intermediaries like retailers and wholesalers in different countries.

Recommend 1 Improvement in Lacoste selected Strategy

In my own opinion, I think the recommendation that I will offer Lacoste Company in terms of
their pricing strategy is to give lower prices in their products that can benefit to all and that all
customers can afford their products. Also, give a good discount for the customer so that they can
have a good relationship with the customers.
