1.. COMPOSURE BEHAVIOR -is a set of behavior determined by Dr. Divinagracia that would be
demonstrated by advanced nurse practitioners to see how it would effect the recovery of the patients in
the Coronary Care Unit of the Philippine Heart Center.

COMPOSURE stands for
COMPETENCE
o Nurses should be equipped with knowledge and expertise inconsistency for their patients.
PRESENCE AND PRAYER
o Pertains to the availability of nurse in time of need not only physically but also hospitically. Utilization of
therapeutic communications techniques are also included.
Ø OPEN-MINDEDNESS
o Nurses should be receptive to different ideas such as opinions and preferences regarding the patient’s
medical status. It also conveys the manner of being flexible to accommodate the views of other.

STIMULATION
o Stimulation is an act of providing encouragement and appreciation that delivers hope and guidance in the form of positive
encouraging remarks.
UNDERSTANDING
o It is an approach that conveys interest and acceptance to the patient’s holistic being
RESPECT
o (a)Acknowledging the presence of the patients and showing positive regard.
RELAXATION
o (b)Entails a form of exercise that involves alternate tension and relaxation of selected group of muscles.

PATIENTS WELLNESS OUTCOME
A. PHYSIOLOGICAL OUTCOME
Vital Signs- clinical measurements,specifically pulse rate, temperature.Respiration rate, and blood pressure that indicate the
state of a patient’s essential body functions.
Chest Pain- pain in the chest of a patient.
Hemoglobin- blood count of the patient.
B. BEHAVIORAL OUTCOME
Physical- concerned or preoccupied with the body and it’s needs.
Includes: muscle strength, mobility posture, gait exercise and activity tolerance and cardio-respiratory endurance
Emotional -relating to a person’s emotions.
Includes: awareness, orientation,understanding of own and other personal feelings and ability to control and cope with
emotions.
Intellectual- relating to your ability to think and understand things especially
complicated ideas. Also refers to the knowledge and perception of a healthy
self and ability to recognize the presence of risk factor and preventive
measures.
Spiritual- relating to religion or religious belief and defined as the
development of inner self or one’s soul through a relationship with God.
Conclusion
The socio-demographic characteristics of the participants specifically gender and age are related to the
wellness outcome of adult cardiac patients.
A significant difference exist in the pretext and post-test course of the wellness outcome after the
COMPOSURE behavior intervention in the (3) groups.
The nursing profession can actively deliver quality care through bio-behavioral caring interventions like
the
COMPOSURE behaviors regardless of creed, social class, gender, age and nationality. Each one needs
humane caring spiritually oriented interventions.
