in 10g each. She recorded the data below until the tenth
and twelfth trials.

Question: Without the table, how many grams of
Calamansi peels are there in the tenth trial?
in twelfth trial ?
To find the number of grams of Calamansi Peels
in every trial multiply the number of trial by 10,that
is,
Number of Trial x 10,thus if we let
s=number of bundles;
The total number of grams of Calamansi Peels is
s x 10 or 10s or n=10s
So 10th trial= 10 (10) or 100 grams and
12th Trial = 10(12) or 120 grams.
● s can take on many different values, we say that s
is a variable. Its value varies.
● On the other hand, 10 is a constant since the
number of grams of Calamansi Peels in every
bundle for every trial has fixed value.
● An expression 10s, where s represents the
number of bundles, is an example of algebraic
expression.

● A variable is any symbol representing possible
value of a quantity.
● A constant is any symbol representing one fixed
value.
● A term is a constant or a variable or constants
and variables multiplied together.
● An algebraic expression is any combination of
one or more constants and variables along with
at least one mathematical operation.

and Practicing New Skills Procedure:
#2 1. The teacher will prepare a box with strips of
papers inside it containing algebraic expressions.
2. The whole class will sing a song entitled “
Binabago Mo Ako Araw Araw”.
3. As the song progresses the students will pass on
the box one at each time until the song stops. The
student who is holding the box at the end of the
song will pick one strip of paper and will identify
the constant/s and variable/s of the given
algebraic expression.
4. The student will write the answers on the board.
Repeat the process until the end of the activity.
5. The students who answered the activity will have
a prize.
