ACTIVITY-2
Q] Based on the stages of service in action, write an account of what you have done or
what you intend to do in order to serve the society.
During the initial wave of COVID's lockdown, while the wealthy and upper-middle classes
were relaxing and spending time with their families, the rest of the population was fighting
to meet their basic needs. During the tough days of COVID lockdown, when the local
regions surrounding us were shut, no one was able to live a regular life, and a few lower
middle class and poor individuals lost access to their source of income, my family and I
took it upon ourselves to assist those in need. We offered this service to the slums and the
society of our house help, as well as neighbourhood merchants, rickshaw drivers, auto
drivers, and individuals who worked at my father's factory. My father's factory sent us
adequate rations (flour, rice, oil, spices, and legumes) in biodegradable packets. All of the
food packets (which had been adequately sterilised) were kept in the basement of our flat
and distributed to those in need. One of our relatives, a chemist, gave out medicines, and
milk was provided to youngsters and the elderly. During that tough period, we served 10-
12 families every day for a month and a half, providing daily necessities to roughly 400
people. In order to support society, people who are capable should always offer a helping
hand to those in need. I learnt how good it feels to help someone and devote time and
money to disseminate the idea that we should treat everyone as if they were a part of our
family.
Learning Outcome:- In particular, as a student, I am able to build leadership,
communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Community work also makes
many people more aware of and engaged in issues of social justice.
