W here does the line meet between Maximum strength and Ultimate lightness? And what
materials provide the best strength to weight ratio?
That is the question we aimed to solve when we developed our Triple Layer Carbon blank technology.

Creating a blank with too much resin can result in a strong, unwieldy and heavy rod. Too little resin and
it could be too brittle and unable to cope with the stress of large fish.

We found that precise point where the two meet for the ultimate blank.

The blank we created has three layers, the bottom and top layer are angled in opposition to each other.
The middle layer is laid vertically. We experimented with the angles in a new carbon cloth technology until
we settled on the perfect combination, maximising resilience, flexibility and striking force.

By opposing layers of cloth at angles, we have created a blank that works along its entire length. We have
reduced twisting and have enabled the blank to transfer energy and power immediately down the line
with little to no loss of force. Less fatigue for you and a shorter fight time for the fish.

To add strength and combine the layers all blanks need resin. We have experimented with different blank
purposes and have developed a resin recipe for each individual range, there is no one resin fits all for us.

Our technology enables us to machine roll our blank to squeeze out the right amount of resin depending
on the blank’s use. It leaves us with a precise blank with absolutely no internal blemishes that can cause

breakage. And the perfect weight, no matter the rod.

Finally, all our blanks are hot press baked. This is a pressurised process that heats all the layers to bind
them as one. It hardens the resin and creates a single strong, light blank.

Power, lightness and a quick reacting force are hallmarks of our Triple Layer Carbon blanks.

Coating
TECHNOLOGIES
T he coating technologies were designed to further strengthen the power end of the rod by reducing
torsion. That effect, which results in twisting and the loss of power over the length of the rod, is
much reduced by the nano-particles forming the coating material. Each has been designed specifically
for a specific range to give the rod a crisp and strong feel in the hand of the user.

The coating is a material that doesn’t damage the blank, but, combines with it to work as a single unit to
deliver a crisp feeling blank that transfers power and delivers an increase of up to 20% in reacting force.

Our coating technologies come in

Biaxial: Twin layers of additional ultra-thin carbon wrap run around the butt end of the

blank forming an X, adding strength and rigidity.

Cross Ribbed: The cross ribbing is a no nonsense finish on the cruisers and ledge

ranges. It promotes power and feel in one.

Dual Hyper Coil: The Dual Hyper Coil technology is used on our X-Tracta series. It is

a wide carbon ‘X’ coating encasing the blank adding strength and reducing twist. It

promotes more power through the blank.

Hex-axial : Exclusively used on the Egi rods due to its extremely light weight, the hex-
axial coating wraps the multi-tapered blank delivering an ultra-light, strong rod.

Micro-fuse : This coating is used on several models due to its ability to strengthen the

butt, or power end of the rod, offering less swing time and faster hook-ups and reaction

time.

Overwrap : This is used on our offshore rods to deliver strength and reduce twist when

chasing big fish.

Quad axial : The eponymous Reaction series gets a top of the line, coating. It delivers a

fibre blank. The handle is our proprietary SBC grip control using cork to deliver a light
comfortable rod with a low swing weight meaning faster and more precise hook-ups.

The Cruisers all have seamless joins which makes these rods a joy to use, show your

All Cruisers come with a spare tip section to cover those unexpected brakages, noth-

you to use the travel rod for multiple fishing activities. One is extra fast ideal for plas-
tics and the other medium fast taper for hard body lures and bait fishing.

T he Samurai Egi rods use Hex Axial cross woven carbon graphite to deliver a
blank that is ridiculously light and strong. They blend and cross the fibres in a
specialised Cross Fusion Press process that results in a crisp, precise machine rolled
multi-tapered blank, essential for the lunging runs of a large squid.

The tip of the rod remains light and whip sharp, imparting crucial instant action to

T he Reaction name is where Samurai all started. It was the first high end rod ever
produced by the company and it holds a special place at the top of the product
line-up. The Reaction Series combines the triple layer carbon blank Samurai is known
for with a Carbon/Duralon grip assembly we call CD6 Grip Control. It stiffens the butt
end of the rod providing enhanced sensitivity and a better balanced rod. A fused
quad Axial blank wrap reduces torsion twist and results in a greater strength to weight
ratio.

The Reaction Range has been expanded and has gone back to its roots, there is a

components we could find in one peerless build. Our duralon grip has been bonded
to a three layer carbon blank which maintains exceptional strength to weight ratios.

At the butt end, we have added a torsion reducing Dual Hyper Coil coating, increasing
pulling power by 20%. Finally Fuji Titanium SiC rings are finally added due to their
tough hardwearing nature.
