This document discusses being a "prisoner of hope" based on a verse from Zechariah. It explains that in life there will be unexpected problems, but God wants believers to be filled with hope and expectancy in Him. In the past, the author was imprisoned by tears, worries and doubts, but God helped them realize they needed to break those chains and instead be chained to God's hope. No matter how long something takes or how impossible it seems, believers should have an attitude of trusting God's sovereignty and knowing that as He promised, they will overcome and it will work out as they wait in hope through Christ. The prayer at the end thanks God for the ability to wrap oneself in His hope regardless of discourage

Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even
today do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
GOD’s MESSAGE FOR ME TODAY
In this life, I will have unexpected problems. That though,
I do my best to take care of my things, one morning my keys will be missing. In spite of doing my best to be a defensive driver, someone will cut me on the road. And however I try to behave, someone will do something that might make me lose control… if I let it.
When things get difficult, it’s easy for me to want to give
up. It’s easy to get down and feel discouraged. It’s easy to blow my top and just go back to the old mean me. But, that’s not God’s plan for me.
God wants me to be so full of hope, so full of expectancy
that I just can’t help believing for the best. He wants me to be a prisoner not of anything negative but a prisoner of hope in Him! And when I am a prisoner of something, it’s like I am chained to it. In other words, I can’t get away from it.
In the past I was a prisoner of my tears, a prisoner of
worries, and a prisoner of doubts. I said “Nothing good will ever happen to me anymore.” “It’s just been too long, I don’t think of my situation is going to get any better.” I found I was chained to the wrong things, until God knocked me on my head and made me realize that I needed to break those chains and become a prisoner of His hope.
That means, that no matter how long it’s taking, no
matter how impossible it looks, your attitude and my attitude should be, “I believe in a Sovereign God. I trust the Almighty God. I do my best to obey His will and His Word. And so I know it’s going to work out fine as He promised. By His grace, I know I’m going to overcome. I may already be waiting a long time, but I know this too shall pass. It may be difficult, but I believe that means I’m closer to my victory for being a prisoner of Hope in Christ!”
MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You that though I am a prisoner, I could be
a prisoner of Your hope when I choose to. Please help me to wrap myself in that hope and attach myself to it regardless of all the discouragements that may come my way. Help me to believe and expect that as You promised, You will bless mw with twice of all that I have lost and were taken away from me. Thank You for everything You are doing in and through me. Thank You that I can always put my faith and hope in You no matter how bad things in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
